Destination Unknown???? 2011

Wow i'm so glad to have stumbled on this Forum!!! I was beginning to feel so frustrated with what is supposed to be a fun, stress free wedding planning process. To my surprise I found myself relating to alot of other soon to be brides struggling to get pricing from thier TA's for 2011 and not being able to find prices within our price point.

At this point I am searching for a great resort and destination for a great price. Any suggestions ladieshuh.gif? I'd like to keep the price pp around $1200.00-$1300.00, and preferably in the caribbean (hopefully punta cana which seems to be a little more expensive than expected). We are planning for end of march 2011 but flexable on dates if we can get a better rate as late as May 2011). Also, I have a couple of travel agencies working on rates for me but they seem to be MIA all the time. Any recommendations?

P.S. Is my pp realistic? We want to keep it as low as possible, but for a good hotel not a dumpy one.feedback.gif

Help...please!!!!!

I can't wait to see what the other brides on here say. I felt the same way and have gone back and forth about different resorts. I first thought I could just do it all myself, but quickly learned that resorts are willing to give me price quotes because I'm not a TA. So, I went to talk to a TA two weeks ago and last I heard from her, she's still waiting on the resort we think we like to get back to her. . .I like your idea about going to multiple TAs, maybe I should try that. Good luck!

Hi and welcome! That price range is fairly average and I'm sure you'll find something soon. I was married in Punta Cana (Dreams), but in November, so the prices were a little cheaper than other times of the year. We flew Sunwing, out of Toronto, and all in it was about $1200 pp.

I am in the same boat as you! I am looking for the beginning of Feb. and the price I was quoted for the Paradisus in Punta Cana was $2700. But when I looked for it myself on the same TA's website for the end of October (that was the latest date I could look up) it was only $1200. This is really frustrating! I have contacted 4 different TA's some have been more helpful than others. Keep me posted on what prices you have been quoted because I am also flying out of Toronto! And I will do the same :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
