3 BMs and NO groomsmen, what to do??

Recommended Posts

So, here is my dilemma. I have 3 BMs and he has NO groomsmen! This is partially by choice and partially because his friends are too cheap to pay to come to the wedding (hey its the truth!)

The wedding altogether will be pretty one sided (most guests are mine) and I offered to have my BMs FIs/husbands stand in as groomsmen but he said he would rather stand alone!

So I know my pictures will be a little awkward, but how will everyone walk in?

Has anyone else had more BMs than groomsmen?

OMG I'm soo glad you posted this, I was in the same boat for months because my FI best man had to back out and then most of his friends were also to cheap to come to the wedding so I had BM's and no groomsmen. Then finally 2 of his other close friends decided to go so now we at least have a best man and a groomsmen. I have 5 sisters and they were all suppose to be my BM's but since he only has 2 for his side, I had to only pick 2 of my sisters and that suckeddd.......

I am having my sister do MOH duties, but FI will not have any groomsmen or BM. I think we are just going to wing it and have sister either already standing at front or walk down the isle with her husband escorting her. I have been trying to figure that part out myself!

That's a really tough one. I had to deal with that months ago when my FI was like "what are groomsmen" (he is from South America and they don't have BM or GM at weddings, just the MOH and BM). And I really wanted to have my 3 best friends be in the wedding. So I asked them anyway and they all agreed.

Now the tough part was getting him to ask. He wasn't sure who was gonna be able to come and didn't want to ask unless he knew that those people were actually coming for sure. Luckily for me, his 2 cousins and a good friend decided to come so problem solved. But I was sweating there for a while..

Don't worry, it might work out in the end. The guys don't think of these things way ahead of time as women do so he will probably come around and some of his friends might change their mind about coming. If not, then just work with what you got. It will still be a beautiful ceremony!

I am in the same boat - except it's the opposite. I'm still a student so my friends that I was going to ask, are unable to come. My Sister is my MOH and my FI has already asked his 3 fridnds to be in the wedding!! So as of now we have 3 groomsmen and my MOH. I am distressed about how they will walk in - and I really think we should only have the MOH and the Best man stand up at the front with us - but I dont want the other guys to feel left out. I have no idea what to do.

Nope, both onlys so the brother thing is out :)

I will definitely have the BMs walk in alone, but then when they get up there it will be three of them behind me and no men behind him. I am wondering if that will be really awkward

I have 2 BMs and he has 1 grooms person. All his guy friends are unable to attend, do to finances. He did a really cool thing and asked his 12 year old niece to be his best person. She is over the moon. He will be surrounded and loving every minute of it!!! As we get closer and the rsvps are in, we might even the numbers. I decided to just not worry about it. We are getting married and it is going to be great, even or not!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
