LOL...How'd you know?! I worked there to pay for two PhDs...one in pharmacology and one in toxicology...I minored in Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry!

(Oh no...did I just say that out loud?!)

Great minds think alike...Sounds like the two of us snags some very lucky men! ;-)

Aw, I love reading everyone's stories!

I met my fiance in grade 7. I know, I know, that is just soooo sweet (barf). We never spoke to each other though, not until grade 12, when he finally recognized my dazzling wit. We started dating over homework in geometry and discrete math and chemistry, then we both moved away to separate universities the next year. The next four years were full of the many highs and lows of long distance relationships, which I would not go through again for anything, really. Finally we moved in together for my last semester of school, and for the past 2 years, we've been enjoying being terrorized by the cat I misguidedly insisted we get.

I met my fiancee through a girlfriend whose brother I was sort-of dating at the time. He lived 500 miles away, so we only saw each other a few times. My fiancee had gone on a date with my friend's old roommate a few years back. It was during the NCAA men's basketball tournament, and my fiancee had told my friend he and his buddies would be watching the game at a local sports bar. She and I had gone out dancing the night before and were super hungover, so we got up around noon, ate lunch, and headed to the sports bar to watch some games. I thought he was super cute the minute I saw him, and when he showed me the Myspace page he'd created for his dog, I KNEW he was cute:) March Madness has always been a fun reminder of our beginning.

So here I am reading the first couple pages of responses...which started off as "Did you meet in a Bar"...I'm reading them and loving the stories wondering if I know anyone who married after meeting in a bar....DUH! ME!!! hahah  This baby-brain is really something!  so forgetful!

DH and i met at a bar in Revelstoke BC (5 hrs from the city we both were living in!)...we were there for a ball tournament and he was there with his friends and I was there with my friends.  He ended up buying me a drink and we hung out and chatted all night long!  We went back to the same tourney for our one year anniversary with a bunch of friends and had to go party it up at the bar we met!  For our two year anniversary we happened to be driving through the town so we stopped in the bar and let him "buy me a drink" and had lunch. It's a fun place to have met and enjoy going back occassionally!  I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have found such a kind hearted loving man!

I met my fiance 10 years ago. We used to work together part time at a kids adventure playground whilst we were studying at college. I was too shy to let him know that i liked him when i worked there, so once id left that job i text him annonymously and got him to guess who i might be lol

Weird turn of event how FI and I met. Every year for my birthday my parents would take me somewhere skiing, when I was 18 they took me to Lake Tahoe. I had just enrolled in a college back in NJ that I was not thrilled about. While there I decided it was beautiful and I wanted to move there. I told my parents jokingly that I was going to pack my bags as soon as we got home and move to Lake Tahoe. They actually agreed and said as long as I went to school they'd support me. My mom said to do it while I was young otherwise I'd spend the rest of my life asking "what if?" No one believed that I would actually do it or that I'd last there. Meanwhile, FI was born and raised in Lake Tahoe and was also a skier. He was supposed to leave that September on a full scholarship to Montana but there was problems with the NCAA accepting all his credits, so he had to stay. I moved there and enrolled in a local Jr college. I was taking 4 classes and FI was in 3 of those 4 classes. One was a night class. Each night we'd leave and I would notice him get in his car and follow me home, but by the time I'd get home and out of my car his car would be gone. I thought he was a total creep. One day in class I confronted him and asked him why he followed me home each night. Turned out he lived a few house down from me. I felt like an ASS! The next day we were invited to a party by a girl in one of our classes. When I showed up and saw him there I told him I was sorry I thought he was a creepy stalker. Shortly after we wound up dating but neither of us thought it was going to end up that serious. He wound up getting his scholarship offered to him again and after dating only 2 1/2 months he had to leave. We decided we'd try long distance and if it worked it worked, I didn't want to be the reason someone threw away a full scholarship. Well 7 years later I guess you could say it worked! cheesy.gif

My best friend was dating his best friend and we were introduced by the two of them. Three years later, they're broken up and we're walking down the aisle....with THEM in our wedding party! Lol, they're completely over it, but it still makes for an ironic scenario :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
