Yes! I was introduced to FH in a bar in Belmar on the Jersey shore in 2002. If in of you know Belmar that should make you laugh. He was dating someone else and so was I but we always stayed friends. Fast forward 3 summers later still in Belmar and I made the 1st move. Our friends said they new it was meant to be. We both had our bachelor/bachlorette parties this past Saturday. He went to Belmar with his buddies I went to AC with my girls for a D'jais party it was kinda like being in a time warp. Funny thing is that the bar we orginally met in my parents used to go to before they were married!

FI and I technically met at a bar...although I hate telling the story like that for that very reason! Everyone thinks you can't meet people at places like this...

We actually went to college together for a semester (I went to a very small college) and we had 2 classes together, but never spoke. When we saw each other at the bar, the opening line was "You look familiar..." (from me by the way...I knew exactly where I knew him from and remembered him because he was the only guy in my women's history class...haha!) but he thought I went to high school with him....

Well his friend ended up exchanging our numbers for us because we are both really shy...he called a few days later and we had our first date (at the same bar actually...and it's still where we go every time we need a night out) and the rest is history...

I tell people we met in college though, so SHHHHHH

Hell yes! We love it too! Actually, the Gingerman is where I met the match maker too. We even celebrate our anniversary (the match maker and I) there every year - August 10th :) His name is Isie (Israel), so we have a big party and it's called "Ashlisie". We are quite silly (obviously!).

Ok - that was way off topic!

Present ! smile03.gif

I went to a party held every last Saturday of the month (it's called "Rent" because this is when you have to pay your rent wink.gif ) to this - now closed - club, the 1415. I was only in Houston since 4 months and one of my friends took me there, together with his girlfriend (I was the one to introduce them to each other, ndlr).

So after a few hours I'm there dancing, and there's this cute guy right behind me... he looks down at me and says "Do you wanna dance ?". I give him THE look (up and downer...) and reply "But I'm already dancing !". He didn't get discouraged and said "But do you want to dance... with ME ?"

So we danced bunny_4.gif, we went on the terrace and had a drink shots.gif and talked and had more drinks friday.gif , and he did a few things that night that caught my attention... first he had an interesting conversation even though he was a little drunk ! Not asking me "so how is it to be in Texas" or "do you really eat snails" or "is it true French people do not wash", well, the kind of crap you usually hear in a club ; when I got up to go meet my friends, after having left him my number, he actually came and joined us and talked to them ; he spent the rest of the night with me but without becoming nasty ; he kissed me good night but did not ask for anything else. And he is really cute so usually this kind of guys, well, they try at least once wink.gif Not him blush2.gif

So here we are now ! We moved in together about 9 months later and got engaged after a year (on our anniversary ! He says he wants to keep the dates to a minimum cheesy.gif). He's the sweetest guy ever love.gif

As someone said above : you go to clubs and you are a quality person, so there sure are some other quality persons there...

Me, me, me!!! I met my FI in a club, and it was so strange because we have been in the same places quite a few times (we have mutual friends) and had never seen each other... But one night at the club everyone was kinda in a group acting silly, and ended up dancing together. I didn't know that night (which seems like ancient history) that we would end up dating. But now he is the love of my life and a can't wait to become his wife!!!! :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
