Still need to send out the invitations (they will be going out before the end of this month); finalizing the decor, programs, and some of the fun things like getting the bridesmaid dresses, and my own accessories!!!!

Just have to take it as it comes, it'll all work out!

over the weekend i've decided to not let the legal and pre-wedding AHR take anything away from out "real" wedding in Mexico! i'm usually a positive person and worrying is stressing me out. i think it has caused me to have bad dreams about the wedding, so to cheer myself up I ordered the hair flower i've been eyeing on etsy

            Thank you Rose!!

I'm worried about how I am going to keep it a secret too. I would be okay with just telling our parents and siblings about our "legal" wedding date and have them there as our witnesses. Only problem is there is no way FIs parents or brother will be able to come visit us prior to the wedding. I'd feel bad only having my family there and not his. We are thinking of just asking two friends to be our witnesses.... but if my mom found out I think she would be really upset!!

I think having a pre-wedding AHR is a great idea! But I totally understand what you mean about it taking away from your Mexico wedding! If I were more organized I would love to have a pre-wedding reception. Kind of like a way for people who can't come to wish you well and a farewell party in one!

I keep worrying that people will feel ripped off if they know that our Mexico wedding is symbolic and not legal. Even though I'm sure most people would understand when you tell them about all the hoops you have to jump through, and extra costs! My biggest fear about getting married legally in Mexico is the stories about people having to wait 6-8 months just to get their wedding certificate! Yikes!

MIA again... for some reason I have a hard time keeping up with this thread.

Quick question for you ladies... I remember us talking about a minister who will do legal ceremonies in her backyard. Could you give me her contact. We've decided to get married legally at home first and do the symbolic ceremony in Mexico. To get legally married in Canada do we need witnesses?.... I want to keep it as secret as possible!

We're definitely doing the legal ceremony here.  We haven't decided who will be there but we'll just have two witnesses, keep it very simple and very hush hush.  (sidenote: my grandmother is already telling everyone my wedding in Mexico "isn't a real wedding"  because it's not in a church.  hahaha  sigh).  Also, I've looked at the wording required by BC Law to get married and am going to ask that only the absolute required wording to be legally married is done - no kiss the bride (we plan to high-five), no emotional vows etc.  For me, the legal ceremony is NOT our wedding and I don't want anything to take away from the actual DAY.

MIA for ages and ages been lurking but i need opinions please....

I knew i shouldnt have gone dress shopping..... girls i have fallen in  with another dress...... Ok so in the pictures of it, it dosent actually look that special, but i tried it on today and i DIDNT wana take it off, I just loved it..... In fact the more im talking about it the more i think im going to get it.... It was gorgeous, fitted PERFECT too & & & & & i always said i didnt want a veil but now i do.... i was looking for an aqua flower for my hair now i just want a hair comb with some bling flowers... i tried on the whole "shbang" I really really wanted my mum or sis there. I went on my own today as i couldnt get anyone to go with me. But i must say, I Looked Gorgeous :-) Infact reading back on this I dont think i have a dilema after all............ I nearly cried, didnt cry, but nearly i had a tear in my eye for sure....

I just wish the picture of it looked like it did when it was on!!!!

You will probably notice it is VERY VERY simliar to the one i originally wanted so i defo know the style is right :-)

I need your advice ladies. We weren't going to register for gifts, but now by the request of guests who cannot attend the wedding we have changed our mind. I want to add some wording on the registry page on our website to let people know that they do not have to buy us any gifts and their attendance is more than enough. Any suggestions as for how to word this so it comes out right?

We have decided to register, but I somehow want to let people know that they don't have to buy anything. My relatives in my home country that won't be able to make it are already asking about what kind of gifts we would like so I want to add our registry on the website so that it will be easier for them. I got a couple of suggestions on another thread where I posted this question, but I am still looking for something else.
