Sorry to hear that. We had a hit and run accident 3 years ago on the way FI's b-day party. That is so cowardly to hit someone and keep going. I actually hit one of my neighbors car a couple years  ago. It was 5am and I was the only person out. The only damage was a few scratches. I left a note on their car with my contact infromation. They called  and didn't even want to accept anything because they were so pleased that I took the time to leave my contact information even though no one saw the accident. We still gave them a check for the paint repair to be done. It just feels better to be honest.

As far as stress goes: I have had two of my three bridesmaids inform me (this week) that they will not be able to attend the wedding; I am in my first semester of grad school and my methods of research course is beyond confusing; I have a collateral duty assignment at work that is now requiring overnight travel; I am in a bootcamp to lose this exrta weight and it is exhausting; and someone tried to break into my house last week while I was home alone. Stress is an understatement!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BangHead.gif(There is more but It would take to long to type it all)

On the positive side, In 3 months and 11 days I will be marrying the one person that can make me smile in the midst of all this craziness! cheer2.gif

I'm in your boat with BM's.  After they had committed, I had 2 bridesmaids tell me within a week of one another that they were pregnant.  I most circumstances this would still be ok, however, one is due the week before the wedding (if not right on the wedding day) and the other is due 2 weeks after...therefore, they cannot travel! cry.gif

One is my godsister and the other is my FI and I's favorite couple that we do everything with.  I was really distraught over this and it took me a while to get over.  To top it off, one of my best friend who is one of my BM's had a bad break up with her bf of 2 yrs and she didn't want to come b/c of the whole "couples" "romance" thing b/c she originally booked with him and we were all in Dominican together last year, but she finallly decided she would be there for me.  Then, my FI's last grandparent, his grandmother, who he really wanted to come took a nasty fall right after Christmas and now probably can't come to the wedding either.  He has been upset over this.  Everything seems to be running smoothly right now..knock on wood...

Things will get better for you Rosie!  Your wedding will be great!  I saw a cute clutch in your pink color in a bridal shop the other day and almost took a picture to show you b/c it would go perfect with everything you have posted on here for your wedding!

Thank you all! I´M SO EXCITED everything turned out so nicely.  Still I ´m having some doubts about the chair decoration . I don´t know if I should replace the white organza around the chairs for some   colourful sarongs(that my guests could take home as gifts) tied up with a starfish?

you ladies are the best!  always know how to make a gal feel better! grouphug.gif
will let you know how it goes tomorrow.....

thanks heather! yes, quite nervous about the meeting but i went to gym last night (training for the 10 km Sun Run!) and thought it through. it's beyond my control so even if i freak out lots now, it won't do anyone any good. i'll just have to wait and see tomorrow......but if they deny the claim $1000 isn't the end of the world - sure will hurt the wallet though.

we're having out AHR at the Kirin next to Starlight Casino in New West. Our families really REALLY REALLY wanted to Chinese banquet with a zillion people and a ton of food.

Someone hit and run my car 3 weeks ago while it was parallel parked outside my work. The guy at the body shop said the exact same thing to me too.... he said it looks more like I backed into something, when clearly I knew I didn't! I was so upset and so nervous about my meeting at ICBC... but the guy was surprisingly nice about it and didn't even try to accuse me of backing in to anything! I only have to pay the $300 hit and run deductible to get it fixed (which I still haven't had time to do).

They could have just been extra nice to me because I have an ongoing settlement with ICBC and they want to keep me happy so I will settle sooner.. haha

I hope your meeting goes as well as mine did though!! ICBC is always out to screw you... so you just have to prepare for the worst.

Where are you having your AHR??

ooooo!  yes, take a pic and show us!!! they're quite cute!

So sorry to hear of your troubles.  Life does seem to come like a roller coaster.  On a happy note, I did take on your idea for the matchbook mints this past weekend and they turned out really cute!  I tried to get my FI to help, but no luck there.  Maybe I will take a pic when I go home for lunch.  Thanks for this inspiration!   1-pray.gif

that's so nice of you!!!! very few people (especially these days it seems) that would own up the responsibility.

wholey moley - someone tried to break into your house while you were there alone?!?!?! i'm so glad that you're okay!

good karma is coming your way!! try to breathe during the stress - yesterday, my friend's kid told me "aunty rose, don't frown, grandma says frowning makes you wrinkley".

~~if you want the rainbow, you've gotta put up with the rain~~

i hope your FI's grandmother gets better!! my last grandparent is also my grandmother, she had a stroke before xmas and can't make it either.....definately a bummer but their health is more important. glad your best friend decided to attend regardless of her breakup, her support will make a difference!

I dont want any of you girls to go through hard times or stress...but misery loves company.  I thought i was the only one going through a rough patch with the wedding.  I have lost two bridesmaids now too!  One is my cousin who is in her 5th year of college and only has 2 classes this semester but her excuse is she doesnt want to miss class.  And then the other is a friend who has recently been fighting a lot with her husband, and she doesnt think she can be around "happy people".  I have been really upset but I'm trying to just let it go.  But now my FI has 6 groomsman and I only have 3 BMs.  I know its not that big of a deal, but i feel dumb.  It's just frustrating that there's nothing I can do or "fix".

Hey ladies!

Nan - your wedding is going to be amazing!

Rosie and everyone else I'm so sorry to hear about all your stress that is piling on right now.  I'm right there with the rest of you.  I just finished my masters and am trying to prepare myself to pass my last board exam which I take Monday....while trying to finish planning the wedding that only our wedding party and my parents and his mom area actually booked for, and trying to get everything set-up for my practice to get off the ground as soon as I get those test results.  FMIL's bff that is sharing a room with her at our wedding got diagnosed with cancer a few weeks ago....she just had surgery and we're keeping our fingers crossed she will still be able to make it they had to remove a lot of muscle from her leg.  Everyone who plans a DW goes through these things dealing with people backing out and not showing up....been there done that.  In the end and the closer our wedding day approached I remind myself that even if it's just us and those that are booked that's all that matters because I'll be marrying my best friend and my parents and my bff will be there to share that day with me.  If people really truly want to be there for YOU on YOUR wedding day they will be, and if they aren't there....don't sweat it you're still beautiful and experiencing one of the many amazing days to come with your future husband!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
