May 2011 Brides!

We have no one who is still deciding, our group booking rate date it up so anyone extra who wants to come will be paying almost double...so i doubt we'll have any last minute bookers!

FI and I are now thinking that we could use the passport I made, and tweek it a little bit and make it more of a thank you for booking passport with info about the resort, packing info, info about the actual wedding day in Mexico etc... We'll also include a luggage tag and only send it to our friends and family who are coming to the wedding!

I just hope no one thinks it is tacky not to send out a formal invite to everyone - we're not having a traditional formal wedding at all, so hopefully it will be ok.

Now that Christmas is over and done with, and my wedding is the next big thing it feels so much closer!! I've had absolutely no stress what so ever in this whole planning process. But now I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed!

I designed my passport invites about 3 months ago. I'm just getting ready to print and start assembling them! However, FI and a couple of my friends seem to think it is pointless to send our the invites because almost all our friends and family treated the STD we sent out back in July as the invite. We already know exactly who is coming and who isn't going to be able to come. Everyone has already RSVP'd and booked their trip if they are coming. For those who have already told us they aren't going to be able to come, would it be rude to still send them the invite? And our friends who are coming, they might be annoyed that they have to send back an RSVP when we already know they will be there! Should I still send out the invites?!? I'm so confused.

I'm in the exact same situation.  Everyone treated our STD from last June as an invite basically since it was full of information, and those that are going are booked but we have a couple people that are still deciding.  Everyone else has already told us they can't be there.  I however went ahead and sent out invitations so I can get an official RSVP from everyone anyway.

Hannah the brochure looks great.

I just uploaded my pre-travel brochure onto vistaprint to have them print it, as well as photo-share cards, luggage tags, and key/ tip holder cards.  I'll upload all the designs later onto here.  Invitations went in the mail on Tuesday as well as the STD for the AHR.  I also had my second fitting today and it's amazing to put my dress on and actually be able to walk in it. Lots of things are getting checked off my list this month!

Your engagement pictures are AMAZING!!! I got so excited when I saw them blogged!!!

- if you want to, why not?
i think it's nice to give people something formal, that way it's more like they're going for your wedding, not they're going on a trip and it just so happens your wedding is there.......well, that's what my MOH told me when i was debating.... =)

Alright ladies here are the things I just ordered.  I really liked the brochure layout from vistaprint but it wouldn't allow me to change the colors so FI made my template for me in publisher and put in all the info I wanted.  However, after I put my order in I realized I forgot to put the tipping info...oh well it's on my website which I'm pretty sure no one visits so that's on them, haha.  I ordered the luggage tag business cards from zazzle because I did not need 250 of them. I will have to wait for them to arrive and take pics because I can't save the image.   As for the key/card tip holders I did get those from vista print for $9 for 250 and will have tons left over if anyone would like some. I also used the rack cards for the photoshare cards.

Hey May ladies!!  We are getting so close!!  I'm feeling excited but a little stressed as there's quite a bit to be done still.  Was hoping you girls could tell me your thoughts on some of the stuff I've designed so far.  I have the "first aid" kit covers.  Ours only have the contents of the first aid kit, tums, and tylenol.  Then, I did a menu and the share the love, not germs label.  Here they are:

Shoot, well I don't have my little share the love stickers on my home computer, but above is also a reservation sign for the parents seats.  I will cut it out and place hot pink cardstock behind it.  Please let me know what you think!

Tisha - I really like the design that you used on your menus and seat cards.  Question though are you having chair covers?  I really wanted chair signs that hung but since we have chair covers I'm not sure how to do that.

Maggie - the flowers look great!

No, no chair covers.  We do have the bows, so I will have to figure out how to set them up so they look nice.  But, I wanted the parents and siblings to have their seats saved.  Thank you btw.  I am completely new to designing with gimp/photoshop, so I am learning as I go.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
