This will be much more fun to say what I have done instead of what I haven't done :)

Location: Azul Sensatori, Mayan Riviera, Mexico

Guests: Expecting about 50.  21 Booked.

Colors: Tiffany Blue, Canary Yellow, and White

Selected the ceremony & reception locations

Bought the dress! - It should arrive any day now!

Sent out my STDs (which actually turned into full invitations!).  I wish I could lie and say they were DIY, but I was getting way too frustrated and ended up paying $ for them.

Very nice!! They turned out great!! I'm in the process of ordering mine from a seller on etsy too!  I couldn't be bothered with all that cutting and gluing for 100+ invitations!! LOL

In terms of my other planning:

  • I'm going to be ordering my bridesmaids dresses soon from www.bigdaydress.com (style JH 5082).
  • I bought my gown last weekend!!  (... but still looking for my FI's suit!!)
  • I'm booked to visit my wedding locations (in Panama) from Sept. 20th for a week!!  So excited I could actually see things first hand to help my with all the decision making and planning.

I am sooo far behind haha! The only thing I have done is chosen the resort and sent in the date request, even though I'm still debating the date....only time available was 6.30pm, do you guys think that is too late???

I have my wedding band, but we still need to get one for FI. I have designed the STDs but not ordered them yet.

JR14, where in Panama are you getting married? We were considering Panama for a little while there.

Wow...you are really my date twin!!  Im scared to ask, but what day in december did you get engaged?  We are getting married at the Gran Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay Jamaica on May 7th.  He proposed on December 5th...  Way too ironic!!!  lol!

Its so interesting to see the different stages everyone is in.  I thought I was far ahead, but I see a few others that are even further ahead than me!

Happy Planning Everyone!

For what it's worth I think you should also go with what will work the best for YOU!  We had a tricky time too because there were only days available at the beginning and the end of our planned trip.  Then it turns out many of our guests from the USA are coming for 5 days (rather than the full week).  In the end I decided to do it pretty close to the beginning of our trip - arrive Wednesday and wedding Friday, May 27, 2011.  I made the decision for ME because I knew I would be a stress case until the wedding was over and my vacation could actually start.  hahaha

So... try and think about what you want personally and don't worry too too much about everyone else.  After all, if they're going all that way for your wedding they'll be happy to have it any day during their trip I'm sure.  :-)

We have some guests that only will be able to come for a few days too. I was thinking 5.5.2011 and it is a Thursday. But then I only have 2 days after the wedding to really relax :S

You're right! I am so busy with trying to please everyone's wishes and I know it. I think I would prefer to have it in the beginning of the trip but on those days the only time left is early that day (not am but earlier than I would like). I could move it up one day and have it on that Wednesday....not sure what to do :S

Isn´t the dress perfect? I love it!  I found it at a place full of wonderful stuff from India!

cheer2.gifThe villa is a great choice as it has six of us put for all our stay and we are celebrating the ceremony there.

There is a Wedding fee and the extras would be hiring the setup for reception, and that is it, as all the rest, you also pay in the hotels!

But privacy pays, this time for us!

I found the dress at a special store where they sell Indian stuff. Isn´t it beautiful?

Yeah, if we had a small wedding that is they way I would have gone. Sounds really nice!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
