I work in a building society and this is a normal thing to do. Its usually about £20 (roughly $28USD or $30CAD) to do this transaction and it usually takes 3-5 workings days for a foreign transfer to go through. We have customers who wire money to their UK bank account from the States. this is a rough estimate based on UK charges. Sorry i dont kow if this helps... you may need to take ID with you aswell x

Will price be a big deciding factor? I would get some quotes for each of the resorts from a few different TAs.

If they are all similar in price then write a list of everything you want (ex. free wedding packing, beach ceremony vs gazebo, outside photography, private reception, unlimited a la cartes etc..)

Read up on the reviews in this forum from each of the resorts and look at wedding pics from them!
