I think I'm in great shape so far. We booked our wedding at the Gran Porto Real/The Royal, sent out STDs and I have my dress!

Here's our STD. We got them from Ginger (BeyondDesign) on Etsy.

Sorry i meant to say the other day, I like these STD's :-)
We never did STD's as not many need to save the date but if i did i would have probably done something like this. I like the bordingpass one too so i thik it would have been a toss up.
Fantastic xox

Hi Everyone!

Ive just joined and booked The Royal Cancun for 6th May 2011. Booked the gazebo but may change to the beach - I can't decide!! If anyone has any advice that would be great. So hard to choose, especially as I can't afford to go out there first.

I love this dress, but not sure if I am going to be too hot in it - we are getting married at 4pm

Hi everyone! I'm getting married on May 7th, 2011 at the Playacar Palace resort. We are sending out our save the dates this week or next and already have a website up.

I haven't really figured out colors (I think turquoise?) or much of anything else yet. Picking the place was stressful enough!

So excited to see so many May '11 brides on here!

The dress is beautiful! I love it! Coming from a bride that just got married in the Cancun area in May, you will be hot not matter what you wear unless its a bikini IMO! So you should get whatever dress you want! I wore a light flowy chiffon dress for our welcome dinner and my wedding dress (maggie sottero vogue) and I was sweating in both wink.gif Go with what makes you feel like a beautiful bride b/c chances are you will be hot either way!

Hi Everyone!

I'm Heather...my fiance is Max. We've decided on May 2011...so far we've met with a few travel agents and we're trying to nail down a resort right now. We had originally wanted the Royal PDC...right now our favorite is Dreams Tulum...but now we are thinking we may need to choose a more affordable resort for our guests.

I'm dedicating today to learning how to use vistaprint and starting our save the dates...wish me luck!

I went back and forth between these 2 as well and finally chose DT, it was more cost affordable for guests and I based everything on May '10 pricing. I noticed while I was looking that April was significantly more expensive than May (not sure why). Now I'm just waiting on flight pricing.

I almost have our STD's finished I've been assembling them all week, it only took 2 months to design..eek! So I can't wait to get them in the mail hopefully by tomorrow.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
