Congrats Joanne!!!

We are definitely not on the baby-making path but we are on the home buying path.  Started looking and got approved and we will see what happens now.  Not a lot of homes out there right now in our area.

Hope all you other ladies are doing well!!

That is a great idea about donating your wedding dress to charity. I was so torn, I feel like I want to keep it (for what I don't know), but it seems like such a waste when someone else could use it.

For my TTD, I am thinking of getting it cut and having a baptism dress made with the material ..... yup Mike and I are expecting our first baby in August!! There must have been something in the water in Mexico because we never expacted we would be lucky enough to get pregnant on the first try!!

Hi ladies!!  Well I have some good news.  David and I are signing the paperwork today for our new house.  We get to build it from the ground up and make it our own custom house...flooring, cabinets, counters, etc.  We already picked out our dirt lot.  So much fun!!  What a great couple of months we have had...married in Nov, I got a promotion in Dec, David got offered a new job in Jan paying double, he started in Feb, we are buying a house in Mar, it will be ready at the end of May right after he finishes his Masters and then the first week of June we go on vacation!!  What an awesome year so far!!

Hope everyone else is doing great!!

Thanks hun!!  They just poured the foundation this week.  It's so fun to watch it go through the whole process.

We are all coming up on our 6 mo anniversary!!  I actually feel like its been longer than that haha.

Anyone have plans to celebrate their 1 yr yet?  We are thinking of going back down to Aventura but Palace Resorts seems to be having some major issues with the switch over to Hard Rock so we might need to change that up.

That is awesome to watch your home being built from scratch! So exciting to custom pick everything, congrats!!

I know, can you believe it is almost 6 months already??!! It's insane!

We were supposed to go to Italy for our one year anniversary, but with the baby on the way that isn't going to happen now!!

We'll celebrate locally on the day, maybe a weekend away if we can tear ourselves away from our little girl (or who knows, by then we might be running and in dire need of the break, LOL!).

In mid December we are going home to Ireland for Christmas with the baby, so we might do a belated celebration and head away to Paris for a couple of days as Mike has never been.

We would have LOVED to gone back to Mexico, and hope to do so one day, we are thinking maybe next March.

What are the rest of you planning?

Joanne - So when are you due?!  And have you picked out a name yet?

For 6-months (which is this coming Saturday May 5th for Paul & I), we will be do a nice dinner out locally with a gift card that we were given as a wedding gift.

I don't think we will be taking any sort of trip for our actual 1-yr anniversary in November.  We will be doing a big trip in September (so at 10 months) that we have been calling our honeymoon/1-yr anniversary trip.  Paul & I stayed 8 nights in Mexico for the wedding, but only 1 of those nights after the wedding were we without family so it didn't really seem like a honeymoon.  Our trip this September is going to be 14 nights:  2 nights in Barcelona and a 12-night Mediterranean cruise.  Paul has never been to Europe and I have only ever seen one of the ports (Rome), so we are both super excited.

My thoughts for our 1-year anniversary in November are a nice dinner out, a small cake purchased from the bakery that did our AHR cupcakes, and a photo session with our photographer (the one who traveled with us to Mexico).  Who knows, we might even host a little get together at our house for those who traveled with us to Mexico as a "reunion" of sorts.

Hi Courtney!

Happy anniversary for Saturday!!

Baby is due late August. Will be here before we know it.

We FINALLY picked a name, but my husband wants us to be the only ones to know, he doesn't want to tell anyone. I thought this was odd at first but now I see his reasoning, it's amazing how frank some people can be with their opinions! We had talked before about some names we were considering and it was a nightmare listening to everyone's two cents worth, so Mike decided that we would not tell anyone until she is born. It's a normal traditional name, nothing crazy but we still don't want to be hearing anyone trying to turn us off it!

Your trip in September sounds fabulous. What other ports are you guys stopping at? Oh you guys are going to have a blast!

I have always thought it would be good to find your most smart-a$$ friend and tell that person (sworn to secrecy of course) the baby name you chose to see if they can find a way to make fun of it.  Just to head off any school-yard teasing about the child's name.  But I think it is a great idea to not tell everyone before, as they hopefully have the tact to not tell you they dislike the name after the baby is born.

The September cruise is out of Barcelona to Marseilles (France), Florence, Rome, Naples, Dubrovnik (Croatia), Venice, Sicily, Mallorca (Spain), and then back to Barcelona.  I think it is going to be an amazing trip, but an absolutely exhausting one.  There is going to be so much to see in each port that relaxing and taking it easy is just not an option.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
