Hey Joanne,

I am definitely feeling a little stress now because it is getting so close. But then again I'm a type A control freak lol. But I am realizing now that all the little things will work themselves out once I get down there and talk to my amazing on-site wc. I mean its pretty much impossible to predict every little thing that will and won't go right. My biggest stress right now is about what my centerpieces will be, and getting our GM attire all set. Other than that there's not too much Ii can overly stress about. I know I want to have a bunch of private functions but I'm not going to go above and beyond with those other things because its not what people will remember the most. I've learned slowly but surely lol to just get the essentials down and everything else will fall into place!

I really trust my w/c, she seems amazing, but it's all the stuff I have to do that is piling up! And big enough things too, we must each get our rings, we haven't gotten the men's attire yet, pick and buy a veil and shoes, I must create music lists reception (just using iPod instead of a DJ), write ceremony script, do OOT bags, tags for favors, etc ..... It's piling up quickly!! I'm in Ireland right now and all the wedding stuff is in Boston so I guess that's why I'm feeling the wedding stress right now because I am not able to do wedding stuff. Deep breath and enjoy my time here and deal with it when I go back! Was just wondering if everyone else was super organized or still had things to do like me!

I'm in the same boat pretty much.  Still need BM dresses, GM attire, wedding bands, OOT bag stuff, centerpieces, BM gifts, music lists....and the list goes on.  I feel organized but I also feel stressed since most of the main stuff has to do with the number of people coming (OOT bags, tables, centerpieces, sashes).  I wish ppl would just book already!!

I guess I am not alone. I have started putting things together finaally, such as centerpiecess,  colors, attire, etc. But there are a lot of uncertain people about going. It makes it very hard to move forward. I guess all you can do is work on what you can control (guest book, pen, flower girl basket, inspiration pictures, centerpieces, table setting, etc). I am so ready for November evil.gif

I have taken a risk and guessed at how many people will be there!  We will have a smaller group (right now it is looking like 26 adults + 3 kids, including B&G) but not everyone has booked.  We probably only have 10 ppl fully booked, another 10 ppl 1/2 booked (either flights or rooms), and another 6 that have repeatedly told us and others they were coming.  There are a lot of people we sent invitations to that never responded to our RSVP, but as they have not said even a single word to my fiance or I about coming we will just assume they are not.

For those things that I ordered online, I bought enough in case 1 extra couple surprises us.  I bought quite a bit of my OOT bad stuff locally (Dollar Tree), so I will just go pick up more if needed.

I refuse to be in a state of panic come October, so I am getting a lot done now.  Hopefully that won't come back to bit me in the a$$.  I can tell my fiance is already annoyed with all of the wedding stuff I am doing so early - he is a procrastinator so he can't fathom working on things months in advance.  But he is also a man and has no clue what all goes into planning a wedding and how it ends up invading my thoughts every free moment I have.

sxcT ..... same thing, I feel like i have a lot done and as a result feel organized, but then I think about what else needs to be done that I can't do and I want to pass out!!

BrideTwoBe ..... thanks for mentioing guestbook, I forgot that!!!!!

clgriffi7 ...... I laughed reading your last post, I think you and I both (and probably most of the other brides on here) are in the same situation! I have a spare bedroom filling up with wedding stuff and my fiance is asking why when we have no numbers. I am either going to have tonnes of stuff left over or am going to be miserably short. I wish I had a final head count!! I stupidly but September 5th as our RSVP date, wish I had made it earlier.

Anybody get their wedding dress in yet?

Mine is due in September and I am terrified I am going to hate it. Also I was between sizes when they did my measurements so i wanted the bigger of the 2 thinking they could take it in, but the lady at the store said "I've been doing this for 20 years and you wanted a fitted dress so go for the smaller, I know what I am talking about", and now i am sick to my stomach that it won't fit. I've been traveling a lot lately and eating junk and am so worried about dress. Sorry for venting, just having a crap few weeks!

I put my RSVP date as 8/18/11 so I'd have exactly 3 months to get stuff together.  My dress is due in Sept too.  I am very excited to try it on again.  I never took a picture of it so I can't wait to see it again.

I hope you don't have any issues with your dress.  They can take it in if needed - they are made that way usually.  Don't stress about it now - just wait to see what happens when you try it on and then go from there.  No reason to worry about something that hasn't happened yet.  wink.gif

I think I'm in the same boat as everyone. I've done as much as I can but now it's just waiting on the RSVPs to come in. I made my RSVP deadline September 1 but I'm hoping to get an idea earlier than that. I figured 2 months would be enough time for the few things I'll have left to do.

@Joanne: Sorry you've been having a crappy few weeks.... sad.gif When I ordered my dress I ordered it a smaller size and got sick thinking I may not fit it in it when the dress comes in, so I know how you feel. But really, it's not helpful stressing because if you're like me, I eat more junk food when I'm stressed and that actually made me sicker. My fiance had to remind me not to worry. Alterations are supposed to be good at doing all sorts of alterations, especially taking things in (which my mom tells me is easier than letting it out). Funny enough the lady at my bridal salon would have preferred that I get the larger size because taking it in wouldn't be much of a problem as opposed to letting it out, but they reluctantly let me get the smaller size because there was room in the dress to let out in case it was necessary. Thankfully it fit when it came in! I got my dress in May but it's hanging in the storeroom at the bridal salon. I'm supposed to go back in September for alterations. And I realized all the worrying wasn't necessary, so I would say don't worry. Also, if you loved your dress when you ordered it, you'll love it when it comes in. If you need a reminder, go back in to the bridal salon and try it on again. I did that because I panicked for a moment thinking I had bought the wrong dress as I saw another one I would have absolutely worn as well. I took a friend with me who saw both and she said she loved the one I ordered, no question. There's nothing wrong with a little reminder and affirmation. cheesy.gif Have a great weekend.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
