November 2011 Brides (or Grooms)

Carrie and Sarah -

Both of your photos are fantastic!

Sarah - You are certainly still rocking that dress and the beach/cliff backdrop was gorgeous.

Carrie - Your review was great and how lucky that it rained for a bit so you ended up getting the reception location that you actually wanted.  And I LOVE that picture of the two of you walking back down the aisle with the sunlight and the colors - awesome.

I hope everyone gets all of the photos they want for you AHR.  I had mine in time to put them into a slideshow (with all of the standard pics of baby through embarassing teenage pics) and we got so many compliments.  You will hear over and over that night how beautiful it looked and how much people wish they were there, etc.  Worst case, if the pics aren't in right before your AHR, email the photog and see if they will email you some of the unedited photos.  Unedited would definitely be better than nothing!

So how are all of the November brides holding up?

My husband decided to test out the whole "in sickness and in health" thing very early in our marriage.  Today is my first day back at work after a weekend trip to the ER resulted in an emergency appendectomy for my husband.  All I can say is thank goodness 1) that this didn't happen a month ago when we were in Mexico and 2) for good health insurance (though there will still be a very hefty out of pocket charge).

I hope everyone is doing well and are happily preparing for your first holiday season as a married couple.

BTW - we couldn't resist using a wedding picture for the front of our Christmas cards:

Ouch. I hope your hubby is doing well after the trip to the ER! Indeed, thank goodness it didn't happen last month! That's a great Christmas card! Beautiful.

We just celebrated our 3 year anniversary, which also was our one-month wedding anniversary. cheesy.gif Things are going really well and we are looking forward to the holidays with our families and friends. We are also still waiting on all of our pro-pics and video from the wedding.....Hopefully we'll get it soon because the photographer said he was mailing them soon. Our parents are more anxiously awaiting them than we are I think. Ha ha.

Can you believe how time flies?!? Happy one-month anniversary to all the November brides who got married on the 14th and prior! And happy almost one-month to those who got married after the 14th! cheers.gif Hope your holidays are joyful and blessed!

Sorry to hear about the ER incident. Hope he is feeling better.  Beautiful Christmas card!!!

I would love to do that but I really want to use a professional pic and I won't have those in time.  Still thinking about it.

So I did something pretty dumb and wanted to share with you ladies for a laugh.

D and I were trying to be efficient when it came to the AHR and invites.  We didn't have our accurate guests lists yet so we figured 150 guests allowed on the yacht - lets order 200 invites to be safe.  When we got them all we went and bought 200 stamps and 200 postcards stamps for the RSVP cards.  Then we stuck them on every envelope and every postcard.  We felt so good that we got that done and out of the way.  Then we actually took at look at our guest list and finished up getting addresses.  When everything was done and the labels were ready to be printed I did a count of how many we needed....95.  Yup just 95 invites are needed and I have 200 invites, 200 stamped envelopes and 200 stamped postcards.  We did that a$$ backwards wouldn't you say??  LMAO!!  What a waste of money....so stupid!!  Oh well.

We went to see the yacht last night that we are having our reception on.  Its so pretty and is decorated for Xmas right now.  I got some great ideas for centerpieces.  :)  It made me a little bit more excited about having to do this all over again.  We are having an all out formal wedding reception and we will be watching the ceremony video so its pretty much the whole thing repeated.  Good Times!!

Wishing all my fellow November brides a very merry Christmas. Hope you and your new hubby have a wonderful holiday!

All the best for 2012 and hope we can continue to check in and out on here for updates.

Still waiting on pro-pics in January and will post a few here when I eventually get them.

Also have to re-do my planning thread that I had been updating for months and months ...... my hard drive crashed and died on me a few weeks ago, total disaster. Will post once I get it done AGAIN!

Happy first Christmas to all the new Mr & Mrs!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
