November 2011 Brides (or Grooms)

Recommended Posts

You are more than welcome - we are all here to support each other, because no one can understand quite like another bride.

I bought the legal wedding dress from this website:

http://www.efushop.com/
The one I purcahsed scrolls through on the left side of the site under "What's Hot" (#4).

Do not worry for a small second about your dress choice, yours was one of the ones that I totally loved. I also loved your legal dress, where did you get that?

I'm sorry to hear about your stress...just remember that all you can do is all you can do!  I think it's easy to get overwhelmed when we are focused on pleasing everyone else :)    Remember, everyone that is coming, is coming to support you because they love you and they are the ones who are supposed to be there.  Good luck and blessings on your big day ;)

Instead I am feeling so stressed and anxious. I am putting this down to some of the following :

- Legal wedding is 8 days away and we still don't have my wedding band

- We leave for Mexcio in 10 days and still have a million things to do

- Hurricanes and rain in Mexico .... say no more on that

- My best friend telling me this past Monday that she is now not going (haven't heard from her anymore by the way)

- My fiance's two sister's are not speaking to each other

- Every single time I look at the "show us your dress" page I question my dress and envy everyone elses

- All my family are in Ireland and I got dress in US so have had no one here to advise and guide me through the fittings

- I'm an older bride and have this fear of being "mutton dressed as lamb", make sense?

- My fiance has MS and stress is something that absolutely triggers attacks so am trying to deal with everything by myself without burdening him

- Weight .... harder to control the older I get

- Family flying in from Ireland in a couple of days and house is like a pig sty with all the wedding stuff every where

- My sister who is my only bridesmaid/MOH recently found out her husband was having an affair so he has been uninvited (which she wanted), but I am so worried about how hard this event must be on her, you know her marriage ending and mine starting.

- EXHAUSTION! Am so tired, and because of the snow here and the rush hour traffic it took me 2+ hours in EACH direction to pick up my dress

I love this forum because it's always so happy and upbeat, so I am very sorry for posting this, but I honestly think I am having a freak out.

Aww Joanne!!  Please don't feel stressed and anxious!!  Ok....now that I said it do you feel any better?  LMAO!!  Totally kidding.

I think Courtney Leigh was extremely helpful in responding to each and every point you made so I don't want to repeat anything.  Just try to take a step back, take a few deep breaths and try to clear your mind for a few minutes.  I think many people don't realize that a few simple relaxation/meditation techniques can really make you feel better...even if its just temporarily.

As was said before, there are many things out of your control so letting those bother you now and get you upset or anxious is not a good idea.  I know its easier said than done but just try to brush those things off and focus on the things that are in your control.  Like packing, organizing, checking off things on your list and of course dreaming about the warm white sandy beaches that await you!!

Suggestion:  Maybe a massage, pedicure, facial, yoga or anything else relaxing is needed at this point.  I know you are crazy busy but maybe take a few hours for yourself one of these days and let it all go for a moment.

Hope you got some sleep and you feel better today!!

And JoanneIreland I'm so sorry to hear how much you are stressing!  But remember why you are doing all this... to marry the person you love.  All the rest is details!  Courtney Leigh gave you such good advise and she's right, we're all here for you!  A few more days and you'll be relaxing on the beach with a yummy cocktail!

Ah Joanne don't be stressed!! We are only going to do this once (hopefully ;-)) and you need to enjoy every minute. It will all be over so quickly so make the most of this build up period and savour it. No matter what happens it will still be the best day of your life and it will all be fine. You will be marrying the man of your dreams and will be sharing that love with your nearest and dearest what else do you need

Wow that picture is hot, he will love it I'm sure. I am now only 8 days from departure date.... time really is flying. I finish work on Wednesday though, giving me 3 whole days to get the last minute bits sorted :-)

When do you girls finish work? x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
