Girls I feel like I have so much to worry about as is, so am focused on what I can control, there is nothing we can do to control the weather so just have to put that aside in my mind. I do believe though that lots of rain in September and October is pretty normal, and that November is supposed to be really nice without the awful muggy heat. Fingers crossed we all get perfect days!

My BD book arrived today!! It is fantastic, I just hope Mike likes it too. My Publisher was great, and definitely worth paying extra for upgrades.

Planning is coming along slowly but surely, I just feel like I have no time, between work, family, working out, helping other people with their questions, etc .... (plus my boss is in town for two weeks), that I havn't a second to myself.
This morning I packed the stuff for our w/c into one big suitcase. Just have to finish a few name tags, and am waiting for the maracas I ordered online to arrive so I can add tags to those.

I've mentioned this before, but the big task I still keep trying to avoid is the music list. I did make a start on it which is good, but still have a ways to go. Also need to select and print a photo for our sand ceremony frame (I wish we had done an engagement shoot!!) and guest book photo frame.

I had a dress fitting on Thursday and I am a little stressed. Other than the hem the seamstress did nothing else. The waist and hips are pretty loose, whilst the bust area is so tight i have so much squished flab in the back!! Let me note that I am so small chested (32A,-  thank God for padded bras!). so can't figure out why so tight on chest and so loose everywhere else.  Anyways, she is going to let out the bust area and tailor the hips and waist some more, but the problem is that affects the flow of the skirt which equals more work which equals more money!! She's also going to add in cups (YAY!), and do the bussle. Oh and sew in a sash once we get all other alterations done. Dreading the cost. Going back next Thursday and just praying and hoping all is well.

I just found out yesterday that an old work colleague of mine just took his honeymoon in the same resort we are doing our honeymoon and he showed me pictures, and I swear I am ssooooo excited. It will be so lovely to head to this adults only resort after the wedding to wind down, just us. Can't wait.

Sorry for the long rant, trying not to get overwhelmed and this site is my saving grace!  Off to get ready now as have friends coming for dinner (not like I don't have enough to do already!!), Have a great weekend ladies!

If I were trying to sneak the flag out and my sister was offering to be part of the conspiracy, I would tell my fiance that my sister was planning a surprise for him for the wedding and it is related to his favorite team and she needed the flag to get the logo right.  That way he knows something is up (and he knows better than to ask and ruin the surprise) but it throws him off the trail of what is really going on.  Good luck...if he really loves the team, then he will love seeing the flag in the book you give him.

Thanks ladies for the compliments on the legal photos.  I had no intention of having a full ceremony to make it legal - but once my fiance said he didn't want it to be at the courthouse it just kept going from there.  I had no what hairstlye I wanted, but I knew I wanted something that would be opposite of the curly hair that I had for my bridal portraits & will have in Mexico.  I want him to be surprised in Mexico when he sees me for the first time.  As for the dress - the slit isn't really that obvious until you sit down.  Until I saw the pictures, I didn't realize it was so high - oops.

I love the pictures, but I think I would have prefered a courthouse ceremony to make the one in Mexico feel even more special.

Dress is amazing and the slit is super sexy!

You two look like such a sweet couple. Oh and your dog is just as cute, so cool you could have him there! You are giving me doubts now, we were NOT having any pictures at legal ceremony but seeing yours makes me second guess that.

So happy for you ..... congrats :-)

I am with you Joanne - no need to worry over things you can't control (like the weather).

This weekend I am trying to deal with the fact that we had another couple book this past week - almost 1.5 months past the RSVP date and close date of the group rate.  We are running around trying to buy more of as many of the OOT bag items as we could.  I definitely think this couple won't have a complete bag...

So I screwed up today - and I hope it isn't a problem later..

This morning I went to tan (I don't want to be pale in my dress and I don't want to turn into a lobster before the ceremony) and stepped up the time by just 1 minute.  So no problem here - I wasn't burnt, but I wasn't far from it.  Well, this afternoon I went to the State Fair and spent about 3 hours outside in the sun.  Alone I don't think the fall sun would have burned me, but when added on top of my tanning booth time...  So I now have a "farmer's tan" with a v-neck and t-shirt sleeves.  Please oh please let me have enough time before Mexico to get rid of these tan lines.  Can you imagine a strapless wedding dress with those tan lines?!  ugggg.

Hi ladies!!  Hope everyone had a lovely (and probably busy) weekend!!  I know I sure did.

I moved into our new apt on Sat.  I absolutely love it!!  The move went so fast because I was organized, packed and ready to go.  Spent the rest of the weekend just figuring out where to put everything.  I was a little upset when I realized that the apt people told me the fridge was on the opposite side of the kitchen than where it is so when the fridge arrived on Friday we had to send it back and wait until Monday to get one that opened on the correct side.  That was frustrating...no food or drinks all weekend.  So we spent a lot of time at David's place.  So that is one major thing checked off. YAY!!!

I have my court/paperwork on Fri, my BD shoot on Sat and my bridal shower on Sun.  I get exhausted just thinking about it all LOL.  My sis did a great job of spontaneously asking David to borrow the flag because she is trying to match that exact color of red to something.  He was like "sure".  Has no clue....it was great.  Now I just need to try to steal the soccer ball out of his trunk of his car....hmm.  Getting my nails and tan done on Friday and my bridesmaid is doing my makeup Sat morning before the shoot.  Still trying to figure out what to wear for my 4-5 outfits.  I am pretty excited to see how these turn out.  My sis is coming along for encouragement so I think I will be ok.

We leave in 4 weeks!!  woot2.gif

Something that is stressing us out a little is we still have 2 bridal party people who haven't booked their flights yet.  So annoying.  Oh and AA canceled our flight and re-scheduled us to a slightly earlier flight.  They did it a long time ago and I found out by trying to see how many seats were still available on our flight but the flight no longer existed.  They just finally notified us...4 weeks out.  Thanks for the warning AA.  :(  So we will see what happens with those 2 people.  We wanted the entire wedding party on the same flight but if they don't make it oh well.  I can't worry about that.

Major things I still need to do for the wedding...

- music playlists for welcome dinner, ceremony, reception, etc.

- re-wording the minister's ceremony reading and vows to my liking

- get gifts for the parents

- finish and put together the OOT bags to see if everything looks good

- make spa and salon appointments for me and the girls

- purchase a white bikini and other stuff for wedding/honeymoon

Happy Monday!!  Have a great day!!

How long do you have until you leave again? Hopefully the tanning bed will even it out. I'm sure it will be fine!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
