Pucca congrats on the legal wedding!!!!  So exciting!  And sxcT I love your dress!!!!  Beautiful!

I too am already "planning" my planning thread HA.  I've been taking and saving down pictures and will hopefully post a week or two before I leave.

I kind of wish I had more to do on my list... but I'm sure I won't be saying that in a few weeks :-)  The next month is going to FLY by.

So the dress fitting went very well.  Just need hem, bustle and cups which still ended up costing me so much.  What a shock!!

These were taken on my phone.  My dress is so beautiful and I am so happy with it.  It just flows when I walk!!

Thanks Taryn! The legal ceremony takes literally 5 minutes so at least it's not so lengthy! :) As for your dress, it's beautiful!! Looks great on you!! Exciting!! Yeah, alterations do end up costing quite a bit, unfortunately. :(

Pucca -  Congratulations on your legal wedding!  What is it with the guys and wanting to wear the rings?  I suppose it is a good thing they want to be married (and marked as such).  My fiance/husband (whatever he is called now) switched his ring from the right hand to the left hand after our legal ceremony.  He said that I was marked with my engagement ring so he wanted to be marked as well.  I am not sure if that is weird, so I will just go with it being sweet.

I said he could wear his wedding band for the past two days but no more cuz I don't want it to get dirty or anything for the DW in Mexico. Lol! I just used my engagement ring for the ring exchange. We tried to keep it as low key as possible but my mother-in-law (one of our witnesses) just kept on and on about how important the legal ceremony was (even if we didn't tell them where we were going till the night before). And we haven't told many people, and don't intend to until later. But I know my fiance/husband is chomping at the bit to change his FB relationship status. Lol! He's just gonna have to wait till the DW! Here's a snapshot of us after the civil ceremony:

Taryn - You look fantastic in that dress!  Your wedding pictures will look fantastic....  Just think of how perfect it looks when you are reminded of the cost of the alterations.  (my alterations were $340 - uggg)

Don't worry about having all of your parents in the same room - if they can't be civil to each other on your wedding day (even if it is just the legal day) then you will have to lay down the law fryingpan.gif

Aww thank you!!  Alterations suck but it will be so worth it when it fits perfect!!

And you are right about the parents.  If they can't do it for a few minutes now how are they going to do it for 5 days?  i better handle it now instead of when we are down there on vacation.  Ugh!  BangHead.gif

Thanks Leigh!!

Lol! I think that's sweet! I take it as a good sign that the guys want to wear their rings. cheesy.gif After all, I was wondering how my honey (I'm going to call him that from now on to not do the fiance/husband thing cuz that gets confusing) would stick to wearing a ring when he dislikes wearing jewelry.

YAY the pic of my dress is running across the board on the home page.  How exciting!!

So ladies....I gave in and decided to book a professional for a boudoir shoot next weekend.  I contemplated it for weeks and I had a few people offer to shoot it but I just knew they wouldn't turn out good.  My engagement pics were done by my mom and another session by another friend and I wasn't happy with either.  So I figured I should go the professional route for these to make sure I look absolutely friggin amazing.  So maybe I need to start doing double Insanity days next week LOL!!!  I should get the album a week after that.  I hope its worth every damn dollar I'm spending!!

Eun-sil, love your idea on not using the word husband OR fiance between legal and destination weddings!

Taryn, that is ssoooooo cool, I just checked out the home page. Congrats and well deserved!

You won't regret doing the boudoir shoot with a professional, you will love it.

I highly recommend printing out ideas ahead of time of your favorite poses, I did that and so did my photographer (it was her first BD shoot so she was as nervous as me, LOL), and whenever we were stuck we would look at the printouts for some ideas. If you have a designated driver I suggest wine!! I bought my ipod so we could have some of my music playing which made it so much more relaxed than raw silence. I also got eyelashes put on that I never wear and it helped me feel sexy. Bring loads of changes of outfits, even if you won't use them so you have choices depending on your mood. A sports type setup with her fiance's favorite team is a nice touch. Bring loads of accessories (I bought long pearl necklace, a football, a rose, a cigar, etc ......). Bring your wedding veil too if you have one. Mine hadn't arrived on time and I was bummed. I also did a spray tan the night before, who doesn't feel sexier with a tan?? Anyways that's my piece of advice from my experience!!

Oh and as you know I used MyPublisher to design and print the book. When it gets here I will take a picture and post and give you feedback.

BTW do not worry about doing Insanity, you look fabulous in your dress!! Wish I had heard about Insanity before, would have liked to try it but too late now. I'm doing Zumba at local community center. As soon as the wedding is over I want a Big Mac :-)

As no one but myself and my photographer have seen the pics I would love to post a few teasers but am too nervous (such a wimp I know), but maybe I'll post one or two!!

Taryn -  Congrats on being on the front page.  And congrats on the decision to do a boudoir shoot - you have more guts than I do.  But, based on your dress pic, you are going to rock that shoot.  Joanne's suggestions are great - do whatever you need to do to feel sexy and then you will look sexy.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
