Hi everyone,

I am also getting married in November of 2011.  We'll be getting married in Playa del Carmen---we just have to settle on the date and location!

I wanted to reassure everyone who is worried about the violence in Mexico.  It truly truly is very far away from this part of Mexico.  Although I'm originaly from the Philadelphia area, I live in Merida, Mexico ( a city about 4 hours west of Cancun) and am also frequently in the Mayan Riviera area.  It really is safe here, and the problems in the border areas are not happening here, thank God.

Wow Gran Caribe is supposed to be stunning, you must be so excited. I too wanted 11/11/11 but our hotel didnt have availability. We are getting married at the Dreams Tulum on the 10th now. So just before you!

Have you started looking at dresses yet? I am going next week I think its going to be so much fun.

Where are you getting married?

Thanks for trying to comfort me :) We're getting married at Gran Caribe Real. How about you?

  • 1 month later...

We are also a 11~11~11 DW at El Dorado Royale!

We just booked our room and flights this week! Excellent airfare sell going on by the way this week! Also, after checking in with the resort we found out it is starting to book up due to the popular wedding date! Something to think about!! We passed this info on to our guests and they are all starting to get their reservations in as well. Now that we and some of our guests have booked I'm staring to get nervous, crazy, happy, stressed, all at once! EEEEK! and I still need to go dress shopping! LOL!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
