Don't get Married At Dreams Cancun Resort & Spa Cancun

Recommended Posts

We have posted a thread on this as well today. Completely agree with above problems of Gazebo torn down and rooms not available. We were married on 4/10/2010. Everything previously stated is true, with actually a handful more complaints. The staff withheld information intentionally. I encourage you to call the resort and ask them about the situation and they likely will be forced to tell you at that point. Cecilia or Claudia would tell you if you asked them I would imagine. This post is not a fake, we have better things to do. Its not a complete loss, but you should be aware of whats going on. Click on the link below and you will see a lovely picture of the removed gazebo right in front of our room.

Hey ladies - I'm getting married at Dreams Riviera Cancun so I'm hopping over to this thread - I'm so disappointed to hear about the way dreams management is handling this.

Just wanted to let all the brides dealing with this issue know that my heart goes out to you! I wish you all the very best and I know your weddings are going to be amazing and beautiful!

So let me start by saying that if I arrived for my wedding and saw that birdcage that they set up as a Gazebo, I would have an attack right there and then and have to be admitted because of hysteria. It's so sad that they tried to be sneaky about this,

Good for you for defending the post!!! We should assume that everyone who posts here have good intentions. We all know that is not the case, but...

But... it's hard to determine the validity of posts when users who are not active in the forum decide to only post negative comments...especially if the same exact story is copy and pasted into several different threads.

It doesn't necessarily make what the poster is saying untrue, but it makes the content seem less credible than a review from someone who has been a long time contributor.

Sorry for the multiple posts, I guess we just wanted to be heard so that everyone knew what they were getting.

And by the way ladies, we essentially demanded that upcoming brides for the next few weeks be notified immediately, but the management wanted nothing to do with that. Sorry again for the presentation of the posts, I'm surprised we didnt actually hurt somebody instead! :) Good luck to everyone, wherever your wedding is held.

I am getting married there in 12 days. And because this board still considers me new, I can not open the attachment and see the photo. But I would REALLY like to see it. Can anyone else please paste it into a post that everyone can see? Or email it to me? They tell me the new one will be ready by my wedding day but I am still very nervous. sad.gif Thanks.

I don't have access to photo bucket on the computer I'm working on currently, so I'll have to try and use flickr. Please let me know if this isn't visible.

And this is GWEN's photo... NOT mine! I have not been to this resort, so I cannot confirm or deny anything. I am simply placing the picture on here to help brides who are new.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
