The night before.....???

Recommended Posts

I am not big on traditions, but I know my Fi's parents are so I am not sure what we will do. I do know that a lot of hotels offer a room for the groom to get ready in the day of the wedding, so I will definately take advantage of that. I would rather my bridal party and my mom help me get ready rather than my Fi!

I also would prefer to NOT stay in the same room the night before... but my wedding is not until 4pm the next day.. so I wonder if I'll be able to make it the whole day without running into him.

As for where he'll sleep... I was thinking he would stay with one of his groomsmen who is single. I never considered the idea of asking the resort if they'd have an extra room for him for the night... I think that's a great idea.

We are planning to stay in the same room. Our wedding isnt until 4pm anyway, so Id probably end up bumping into him during the morning anyway. However when it comes time to get ready, I dont want him to see me/ me see him until the ceremony. One of us will just get ready in one of our friends room or something.

I feel like I "should" follow this tradition, but then again FI have been living together for 10 years already so it seems a little silly! I think that being apart the night before would increase the excitement and anticipation of seeing him the next day, but I also worry that I wouldn't be able to sleep without him there! Realistically, we may just part ways relatively early in the morning and get ready separately for our big day :)

My hubby and I stayed in separate rooms the night before. I stayed in our room with his sister (my future SIL) and he stayed in one of his groomsmen's rooms. I had to get up so early the day of the wedding to go get my hair and makeup done, and I also didn't want to disturb his sleep since I knew I'd be tossing and turning all night. We both kind of liked the idea of the "suspense", too -- not seeing each other until I walked down the aisle. The morning of the wedding, I kept getting reports from different wedding guests and even the wedding coordinator saying how nervous my hubby was -- it was cute! It was kind of like I had my own private investigation team...

Bottom line, though -- do what feels right to you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
