Missing my best friend's wedding

Recommended Posts

I have seen a couple of threads here about girls venting that certain friends or family members are not able to attend their wedding because their pregnant or recently had babies (and I have given my opinion on this too many times on this, too!).

Well, now I'm that girl- my best friend is getting married in Mexico on Thanksgiving weekend and I can't go because I would have just had my baby (i'm due 11/11) plus I will have a 15 month old at home. I didn't think it would bother me so much because I'm excited about having my second baby, but it does. I can't believe I'm not going to be able to be part of her wedding day and see her walk down the aisle. I'm in total disbelief right now (it's hitting me more now because she just emailed everyone her wedding website) and I can't stop crying. She's totally understanding about it and seems more excited about my pregnancy than her own wedding- and that's exactly the type of person she is which makes me even more sad not to be there.

Thanks for listening, I just had to vent a little because I can't stop crying.

Aww Mrs. Martin! My best friend can't attend my wedding and she is so upset about it. Of course I will miss her but my thinking is that she will be a friend throughout our marriage. Her love and support will be appreciate much more during our marriage than just the day. Congrats on your pregnancy, enjoy it and don't dwell too much on not being at the wedding. I'm sure she'll know you're there in spirit!

Mrs.Martin, I know you're sad & upset but try to focus on the fact that if you could be there, you would! You're missing her wedding for a totally understandle reason!

I was initially hurt when 1 of my BFF's couldn't attend my wedding b/c she was pregnant but I eventually got over it. Its something that neither one of us could do anything about so it made no sense for me to stay upset about it.

Have fun helping her along & planning her big day & I'm sure she'll appreciate that even more! You may not actually be there the day of the wedding, but I'm sure you will be there in spirit!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
