(we were over 25 guests)  The wedding coordinators are much more willing to negotiate when you are there.  Just be prepared that everything takes longer when you are there!  We ran into an issue with the bamboo room not being ready and so the cocktail hour went a little long...which was fine but I only had my photographer for a set amount of time.  Luckily he was willing to stick around, but it was still a little annoying.

Hi MrsMom! Congratulations on your wedding! Have your wrote your review yet?

Hi Everyone! I've been a stalker for a while now, :) but decided I should start posting as I am starting to have questions. I am in the process of putting a deposit down on a date at Now Jade. As I plan reception decor in my mind I am thinking it's going to be a lot to pack...so has anyone had experience shipping items down there? I am thinking that is the way to go but wanted to know if anyone had done this and did it go smoothly?

I recently got married at the Now Jade and brought 8 suitcases filled with wedding stuff! I looked into shipping things but it was way too expensive so I just had some of my family members pack light and take some of our suitcases with them!  It all worked out perfect! I even brought a whole bunch of vases on a carry on with me!

HI!!

Which airline did you take? I am now just reading borrow reviews about how the checked luggage got lost or stolen. I am taking Aeromexico and my wedding is in 2 weeks!! I am freaking out! I am probably going to shell out extra cash to fedex it there in a couple of days!!

I took united airlines and did not have any problems what so ever.  The most important breakable things I just took on the plane with me.  We seriously had over 10 suitcases between all of us and not a single thing happened. I was freaking out at the time too but honestly there is nothing to worry about. If there are certain things that you can't go without just bring it on the plane with you.  good luck!

Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone has had Samuel Luna as a photographer? I am thinking about hiring him because so far he has the best rates and his pictures are amazing.  He has also been extremely nice and has contacted me within the hour every time I have emailed him.  So far I am very impressed, I just wanted to see if anyone else has used his services.

Hi all. Just booked today for our April 24 wedding!!!!! Pretty excited. We were planning on viewing the locations on our trip in Dec, but they needed to know where when I put down the deposit. I am hoping someone can share their experience on the beach location (mainly concerned with gawkers and what the divine package inclusions are) and the terrace for the reception (we have 45 ppl, worried about dance space ). We are only doing the major dances there (classic disco party to follow). Anything you can tell me would be fab.

We had our ceremony on the beach and it was exactly what I wanted. We were set up right by the beach bar (not in front of any of the pools) and we had some people watching but I don't think it would matter where you would have it people are going to watch. In the moment I didn't really notice or pay any attention to them. I was supposed to have our reception on the terrace but due to possible rain we had to change that.

 Congrats on booking!

You do give them your location choices when putting down the deposit, however they can be changed at any point as long as they are available.  We changed our location from the beach to the Pergola 3 weeks before our wedding.  So, I wouldn't stress about it too much.  Just look at pictures from past brides to see where you want the ceremony: Beach, Pergola or fountain (I believe those are the three main choices).  You definitely want your cocktail reception at the Mix Bar.  Its the best.... perfect location with great ocean views an your own private bar.  They will even plug in your iPod and play your own music.   Reception is either inside at the Bamboo room, on the terrance or in one of the restaurants (those seem to be the 3 places most brides choose).  They tell you not to chose the beach as its windy (who wants sand in their food) and there are sand flies, etc.  The terrace looked very nice but on the smaller side.  If we had a bigger group I would have chosen Castaways for sure.  :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
