Hi everyone I'm back and caught up on all the info, thanks! I'll be at Now Jade from June 20th-27th. I'm getting married on the 22nd at 5pm.

Are any of you doing silk or real touch flowers or making their own for your bridesmaids? I got a quote of $65 per SMALL bouquet from Ana. I'm going to look around and Michaels and Hobby Lobby to see how the silk flowers look.

They also quoted me $65 per small centerpiece. I know a lot of you are taking your own down. What did you decide on? I've read how packing it all can be an issue. What if I used my bridesmaid bouquets for my centerpieces and have rose petals and clear crystals around the centerpiece? To simple? I will have 5-6 round tables.

Any pointers are great thanks for helping!!!!

Hi Hilla - mine is on August 6th, so I guess we'll just miss each other!

Thanks for all of the input on shipping.  I think to be safe, I'm just going to try and bring it all down with me.

Great pics Amie, you're gorgeous :)  Random question - where is that abandoned house you're photographed at?  Looks like a great photo op ;)

My wedding is also in August, on the 18th.  When is yours?

Kara, I'm going to buy vases and fresh flowers down there in Playa, and I'm just bringing aqua beads, which are like those crystal things.  There was no way i was going to try to bring vases down with all the other stuff I'm bringing and I think at most it'll cost me $25 per centerpiece.

Thanks for the feedback!

That's a good idea, but how do you know they will have the flowers and vases you need in Playa? Have you been recently and know what stores they have? I wonder what cab ride to Playa cost?

I was going to bring down enough chair ties for the ceremony and then have them move the chairs into the reception during the hour cocktails. Ana told me they will charge $1 per chair to move them if I want to do that. What a joke!

Kara, there is a Wal-Mart or Target in Playa, so they should have some vases/flowers that you like. Not sure what a cab ride would be, guessing about $20.

I am not bringing any decorations down there and I'd rather not have any decorations at all than paying what the resort is asking. I guess I will take a trip to Playa too :)

Thanks for the info. How cool would if be if we could do site to store shopping on Wal-Marts website so our stuff could be in the store when we got there!? I checked from what I could tell they don't offer it for the stores in Mexico.

I'm going to check out Hobby Lobby this weekend for flowers and centerpiece ides.

Question....I have been working with a Travel Agent to help organize all of the travel info for my DW.  My TA just told me today that in order for me to hold a good number of rooms I have to put down thousands of dollars for a 'hold deposit' with the resort.  Has anyone else had to go through this yet?...I was just wondering if this is normal.

    • Hello!! My fiancé and I are planning on a destination wedding and we are wondering if there are any recommendations for a travel agency to use. I’ve emailed some I found online, but find it tough just communicating through email before we decide where to book. After we book, obviously email is convenient! We are in the Niagara Falls On area and would love to sit and meet with someone but don’t know where to start. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thank you
    • I’m getting married next May at the Azul Sensatori  in Cancun, I believe they have a hotel specific DJ. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on that versus spending money for an outside vendor and if so any recommendations on a good DJ in that area? Thanks for the help.
