Magirl,

We didn't have to pay for wine or sushi when we were there in February- and we ate at the Asian restaurant multiple times b/c it was so good!  The wine is pretty gross if you get it from one of the bars- like the lobby bar or disco bar- b/c it's just the cheap wine but when you're at one of the restaurants, it's the good stuff.  I'm assuming the cheap stuff will be served at the wedding receptions :(.  I hadn't thought about that- I might have to purchase some good stuff!  I think the other girl I went on vacation with described the lobby wine as tasting like "dirty dish water..."  :)

I was reading reviews on Tripadvisor and one reviewer mentioned having to buy a wine and sushi was extra too. I'm a bit confused as I thought it was all inclusive? Can anyone enlighten me  on what needs to be paid for additionally? (besides wedding dinner)

Also I see that the little roof area over the beach terrace is gone, do anyone know what they provide for lighting out there?

I don't know what to do at this point, the info that I receive from them tends to be unreliable and now I will have to pay for services that I have no use for...not a happy camper

Um thought people have been doing this all along? switching djs for mariachis and photographers for flowers and such...

I just sent you the email with prices and her info. I always email her but I think there is a toll free number too now that I think about it. Let me know if you need it or have any more questions.

The price T&A got was a lot higher than the one I got, but like she said it was a while ago.

After about 4 times of persistently asking, I finally got Pilar to say I can swap the officiant for 3 extra centerpieces.  I think they must just have a policy to say no at first, but then they give in??  I'm not sure but keep asking.  Of course I'll probably have to start all over now that I got switched from Pilar to Ana!!

Thanks for the encouragement :) This whole process really starts to get frustrating but I can only hope that in the end things work out smoothly. Even if it isn't an even exchange, I would like to receive something for the things that I'm not using at all, I need to put my negotiating hat on and try again!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
