Has anyone else been told that they don't do weddings (not even symbolic ones) on Sundays? I was not aware of that since my TA told me May 8 was an option when I first started checking for dates, but when I spoke to Ana today she said they don't do any weddings on Sundays??!

Hi Kristie! :)

Hi Kristie! :)

She is right Sunday is not an option. I read up on a lot of the resorts in Mexico before selecting NOW Jade they all said Sunday is not an option. I then realized that any wedding I've been has been on a Friday or Saturday never Sunday back home, guess Mexico is the same way! I'm getting married on a Wend.

Thanks for checking for me SKING!  I feel like more people would be upset about it if they were charging everyone $15/person/hour.  I think $15/person is reasonable at an all-inclusive, but not per hour!!!!  We are actually having a fairly late ceremony on the beach (6:30 I think) and then a cocktail hour 7-8, and then I think just a 3 hour reception, so I would definitely love to know what she did and didn't charge you for.

It's not like not all of the guests can drink if the bar is open during cocktail hour (even if you don't pay for the extras), right? I was under the impression that its just an open bar :)

You pay $53 per person for the divine package plus taxes and service fee. Works out to about 67$ per person i think!

Thanks for the info Lisadias!  I appreciate it.  Hopefully I can work out something like this too.

I can't decide on the date, the dates I like during the week don't have later ceremony times and the other way around. I might just take a pen, close my eyes and see where it lands :S

Does anyone know which florist company does Now Jade resort used? I am not a big fan of any for the flower options available with the package. I am thinking of hiring an outside florist within the area. Is anyone else getting flower from a florist near by?

Hi T&A

I was told they have a floral shop onsight. I am trying to find a florist in the area but I am having a hard time finding one. If you locate one that is reasonable please let me know. They all seem to be as expensive if not more expensive then the resort.

Thanks

You're welcome! I hear ya on the date. We decided to get married here before hand and not deal will the legal requirements down there. We are going to arrive on a Monday and marry on Wend.

Something I found helpful was to leave on a Monday instead of Saturday. Taht way you won't wait as long to get married since they don't count Sat/Sun and it was about $40 cheaper per couple.

I'm ordering Real Touch flowers online and making my own. You can also order them online through companies who will put them together for you. Here are two websites I found, if interested.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
