Hi brides, we got married at Now Jade in January. The resort is so beautiful and Pilar ensured our wedding day was as perfect as we imagined. I got in touch with the DJ, photographer and videographer about 5 months before our wedding. The DJ requested a list of "must play", "do not play" & the mother/son & bride/groom dance songs from us which we emailed to them before we arrived to the resort. It was nice to communicate with all the different people who would work with us on our day to make sure we are happy.

Here is a link to my full review of Now Jade: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/now-riviera-cancun-resort-spa-all-inclusive/reviews/5858

Happy planning everyone :)

Hi Brides,

Just a couple of questions (hopefully those who already married there will still check this thread!)

Have any of you used the resort photog included in the pkg?  We are really having a hard time deciding whether to use the one included in the pkg or bring in an outsider....pictures are really important to us, so I am just worried that the one w/ the resort will only snap the obligatory 25 pictures and not capture a lot of the candid moments....anyone have any input?
Also does anyone know the answers to these questions?:

Extending the reception – what are our options?  Our reception is in the Bamboo Room from 6-8pm, I think.  What cost is associated with extending that to midnight or something?

The saxophonist/violinist/guitarist playing the ceremony- Is he only available during the ceremony, or can we use him during the cocktail hour as well?  Or at the reception?  We may have specific music we want for the ceremony, so can we use him at a later time, instead of during the ceremony?

Is a DJ an option for the reception?  We noticed it isn't included in the 2013 package anymore, but can we use a DJ instead of something else within the pkg? Example- use the DJ instead of say, the private beach dinner?

Cost for slideshow during the reception?

Substitutions with our package?  Is it possible to move things around in the pkg- if, for example, I want to give up the couples massage, can we get a longer videographer time slot? or something like that....

Thank you everyone!

I haven't had my wedding at Now Jade yet but I can tell you that Pilar said that they do not like to break the packages (ie no substitutions) BUT has been done...the advice I was offered is to go into it assuming that the package can't be changed and it is a nice perk if they do allow you to move things around.

As for the slideshow I know I saw the price of it somewhere...maybe the wedding booklet?  I think its around $500?

I had no problem switching things out. The DJ wasn't included in my package but Pilar said that if I didn't have the guitarist/band (whatever was the music option in the package) I could have a DJ for 2 hours so that is what I am doing. I also didn't need the private transfers so I am getting my hair or makeup trial done for free. She never gave me a problem about exchanging things. Good Luck!

I am getting married Feb14th 2013,we got the Devine package,I have a friend that had the same package and the resort photos were amazing.they do take more you choose your top 25 ,but can purchase additional ones. As for switching things out it really depends on what and if you haggle price just about everything can be the way you want it.I would like to know as well though about the DJ,I have asked but with language barrier ,the response is not really answering my question,so if you get an answer on that,I would like to know as well.thanks

Hi Ladies - I'm working on my invitations and was wondering how brides are collecting your guests food choices.  Are you including them in the invitation response cards.  If so, can someone send me an example of the wording.   If not, how do you plan on collecting food choices for your guests.... suggestions are welcomed!

Thanks!

Caroline

I am...That's a good idea!!!  Not sure why I didn't think of that. How are you collecting the food choices on your website --- does each person submit their name and food choice?

Also, I'm having a hard time deciphering the menu options. I'm going with the Divine plan, so does that mean my guests just have 2 choices between the: Beef Filet & Shrimp OR Yellow Tail Tuna?  Or do they also get to choose from the Eternity Menu Options, which gives them a total of 4 options (the 2 divine items, plus the Scallop & Mahi Mahi OR Pork Medallions)?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
