jmac,

I was worried about the same thing.  I talked to a bride who had her reception in the bamboo room this past fall and she said they had NO problem getting drinks when they needed them.  This eased my mind.  Hope it helps!

However - quick question... for anyone who has had a private reception already in the Bamboo room - I just found out that there is not a private bar included. It is an additional 350 bucks to have one in the room.

Just wondering what the speed of people getting drinks was (as the waiters apparently run and grab them from the Carnival Buffet) - and if it is worth it to get the private bar vs not.

Any help would be appreciated!

Jill

I just got back from our wedding and we had our reception in the Bamboo Room with a private bar, that I did not pay extra for. Plus they have servers so if you request something that the bar doesn't have, they just run next door to the buffett to grab it.  I felt like they brought drinks pretty quick, especially shots :), but just try to remember that every thing takes longer in Mexico.  EVERYTHING.  We had a blast and Pilar was great.  Try to keep in mind that she literally has a wedding everyday in April, May and June and most of the time she has 2 weddings each of those days.  Let me know if you have questions...I'll try to post a review soon.

I have a question about the DJ's at Now Jade... I emailed Pilar and she informed me that they use DJ Doremix and Avi Company at the resort.  Is this something that I book through her or do I book it on my own?  I want to make sure that I not only can check it off my list, but also make sure that I reserve a great DJ.  Does anyone have any recommendations from these companies and how I go about booking?

Thanks!

I'm getting married next month and I will have a DJ for 2 hours. Pilar hasn't told me which DJ I will be having but I assume that she booked it for me. I keep forgetting to ask her so that I can get in contact with them!

Any ideas that have eased the pain of trying to bring gifts for guests ?

Not sure about the DJ or Photographer but for gifts I am bringing our favors (drink koozies) but I am also having the resort send a bottle of wine or champagne to each of our guest's room instead of doing OOT bags. I have door hangers that will be attached to each bottle.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
