Does anyone know the resorts policy regarding wedding guest that are not staying at the resort? I know that a day pass will be required, but didn't know if there were any restriction. For some resorts, off-site guest can not exceed more the 20% of the total number of guest attending the wedding.

We are getting there Monday the 14th. We are having the ceremony on the beach, the cocktail hour at the blue beach bar ( I think that is what it is called) and our reception on the terrace...have you decided where yours is yet?

I don't know if there's a total guest count or percentage, none that I'd heard of anyway. We only had a couple friends come in from off the resort. There is supposed to be a day pass for those guests at about $80 per person I think, but my friends came in 2 days, just took a cab right in and walked through with no questions, payments or pass.

We chose the Divine package. The extras seemed worth the price difference for us. We didn't have a DJ for the reception. We used the mexican trio included in the package during our cocktail hour and then rented the sound system ($150) and used an ipod. My husband used to be a wedding dj so we had a ton of music available to us already.

Hey, we also had the Divine package. We chose the Panela cheese with chipotle sauce, prosciuttto and melon, chicken quesadillas and veggie quiche. They were all tasty and there were more than enough. Happy planning!

  • 2 weeks later...

I have not booked any excursions but I am interested in hearing what people have done or suggest.

On another note, does anyone else have people questioning them regarding Mexico and if they feel safe? If I have one more person tell me that there is travel warning for Mexico I may scream!!!! haha

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
