I have done everything through Pilar. She is usually pretty quick to get back to me. I am not using the resort photographer or the band during the ceremony so I was told I can get a DJ for 2 hours instead. There are a few other things I may try to swap out...like instead of a private transfer get a free trail hair and makeup run...I also think that things will add up quickly for centerpieces...I do not need a bouquet so I may try to work out something for that.

What has everyone done regarding the OOT bags? I don't want to have to have too much to bring on the plane with me but I don't know what I can get down there! Any suggestions?

Thanks :)

So far I have also only been able to swap the photography for extra video hours.... and I was told I would only have to pay for the day passes for the outside photographer. I think that you have to pay for an outside vendor for pretty much anything else you use...like florist..live band..DJ...

And if you think about...having to pay the day pass for your photographer also covers a meal for them at the buffet..which is usually asked for by photographers anyways so having to pay for the day pass isn't that huge of a deal.

I asked the same question and she told me 5.42 ft for a six person table.  I think they have an 8 or 10 top so I guess it depends on which you are going to have.  Is anyone getting a good deal on a rehearsal dinner?  It's my latest hurdle.  Someone on one of these threads said that they got a private dinner on the terrace for $20 pp without the $500 fee but when I mentioned it to Ana she acted like that was unheard of.  Not sure what we'll end up doing...

I can't believe it's only 26 days until my wedding! I'm actually starting to get nervous, for the first time through this whole process. I'm not exactly sure what I'm nervous about...I guess just the idea of it all coming together the way I want at the end. How are you other November brides feeling?

For those of you frustrated with the coordinators at the resort, don't worry. Ana has suddenly stepped up her communication and I've heard from her twice this week already. She requested my planning sheet, and then sent me a copy of the contract to go over, showing all of the charges and what they are for based on what we wrote on our planning sheet. Now we're just going back and forth about each item and she's asking for clarification about what we want, letting me know what they can and can't do, etc.

I did a trial run for packing about two weeks ago and managed to get everything into two suitcases, both of which are under the maximum weight. FI's clothes aren't packed yet, but I am so excited that we can do it all with just two suitcases. Between that, two carry-ons, my dress and his suit, I already think we will be a complete mess at the airport. I don't know how some people can do it with 4 or 5 bags!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
