We didn't plan the ceremony at all, just went with the flow. All we had planned was the music. The ceremony was beautiful though and our families really liked it, so it turned out great. I wasn't that worried about it at all though, I know a lot of brides want their own script and vows etc. but not me. :)

You can choose between rectangular and round (they ask about that on your wedding contract that you will receive before your arrival, close to your wedding date). We had rectangular tables in a U-shape at our reception. Though if you have your reception on the Festival Terrace I believe they only have rectangular tables.

I'm back!!  After 2 wonderful weeks at the NOW Jade.  I have over 700 pics and everything went perfect!

We had 56 guests, had the ceremony on the beach, cocktail hour at the beach bar, and reception in the bamboo room with a private bar set-up.  We didnt use any outside vendors, just everything through the package...and everyone was great.

For some reason, no one likes talking about tips, but we tipped Pilar $100 the day after the wedding.  If everything wasnt so great, we may have given less.

Let me know what questions you have!

I asked Ana Maria to let you know that I was looking for you should she see you, but no luck :( I'm happy everything went well, ours did too!! I'm ready to go back already! Haha!

Can you post some pictures? Did you feel the private bar was necessary? I'm debating if this is something we can cut out. Thanks.

We were only 15 guests + us but for us the private bar would have been over kill. We never had to wait for drinks/wine during the reception, our glasses were always full.

Welcome back Erin! Glad to hear all went well! Can't wait to see some pics!

We also tipped. We brought pilar some gifts, maple syrup, design magazines, spa stuff and also gave her $140. We also tipped all the wait staff a total of $150 plus guests were tipping with the private bar. We gave the DJ $30 and the videographer $50.

We had the private bar, just because I wanted to make sure no one had to wait and we had 50 people there and our drinks were always full and the service was great! At some points i had two drinks in hand as they kept bringing me fresh ones and remembered what my husband and I were drinking at all times.

I have no idea what cake we ended up with but the guests liked it! To be honest, we taste tested 4 the day we arrived and I didn't like any of them. We had an amazing cake in our room one night and asked for that one but the chef who made it had quit before the reception so they just brought out a three layer cake and we went with it. I loved our cake toppers so much that I didn't even notice the cake but it did have the orchids i requested on it which looked nice.

We got the marble cake flavor (I think).  I liked it.

We got the private bar too, which I think was crucial with our crowd.  With so many guests, and everyone being big drinkers, I can't imagine not having the private bar.  But it definitely depends on the number of guests and how much they like to drink.  The wait staff was very good so I wouldnt worry about not having a bar if you have a smaller group.

I've tried to load pictures a couple times but everytime I try, it fails on me.  I dont have the best pics from my camera though, but I'll try again.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
