Erin, I am nervous, probably as ready as I was 6 months ago haha! We just moved to FL, I started a new job etc etc etc. I have not even bought my dress yet, but will try to this weekend. I am excited and as our wedding turned out to be a family affair not too worried about details. I am not bringing any stuff with me, but need to call Ana next week to make sure everything is set. When do you get there? You know we changed our date, right? I will be there from April 27 to May 4.

Lindsay I am definitely bringing my dress on the plane with me but i havent really thought about where it's gonns go.  I guess at the worst, I can just keep it on my lap.

Lisa, I have not!!! Well, I have decided to go the David's Bridal route since I don't have much time and did find a couple of dresses that I like. Will go there again this weekend and make a decision.

Have to book my spa appointments. Does anyone know the prices? In case my mom and sis want their hair done. I will call Now Jade and Ana on Monday to make sure everything is set.

So exited to meet you though and have a drink or two together at the pool! :) See you soon!

I started packing all my wedding stuff and oh boy I already have 3 suit cases and 2 carry ons and that is JUST wedding stuff! I am flying from Canada with Air Transat and they don't have closets so overhead bin it is or an empty seat if possible!

My whole first day at the resort is booked with appointment with all the vendors, it's crazy!!!! i sent in my planning form two weeks ago. I have my hair and makeup appointment at 11:30am and my wedding is scheduled for 3:00pm. I bumped it up to have more daylight for pics.

Hanna, i hope you have found a dress by now!

All the best ladies and I am so excited for all of you. Hanna I will see you there!

Hanna we get to Mexico on the afternoon of the 2nd so we should get a chance to meet before you leave!  Good luck with the dress...I'm sure you'll find something you love.

A friend of mine is doing a hair trial for me today...I'm so excited.  I havent tried my dress on since I picked it up, so we're going to do the whole hair, makeup, jewelry and dress today.  I'm such an informal person so I usually hate my hair in an updo but I'm worried about the wind, so i think i should pull it back.  Hopefully we figure out something i like!

Hi Everyone,

I've been reading the forum for a while. Everyone's info has been SO helpful.

I'm getting married at Now Jade on July 9, 2011 on the beach with the reception in the Bamboo Room with about 30-40 guests.

I'm trying to decide between a buffet and the sitdown dinner. I like the idea of a sitdown dinner, but I'm worried it will drag on for a long time. Does anyone have advice/experience with this?

I would also love advice on ceremony time. We are currently scheduled for 5:30 and plan to have short ceremony, but I definitely want to have time for plenty of photos in daylight. Does anyone have advise on this?

Thanks,

Margaret

Hey Margaret, congrats on the wedding and welcome to the forum.  I'm getting married on May 6th at 5:15 on the beach.  Our ceremony will probably be about 20 mins tops, so we'll do pictures from about 5:45 until just before 7:00 when our reception starts.  I'll let you know how that goes when I get back.  Since you're closer to the longest day of the year, you'll probably have great timing, but I'll definitely let you know when I get back!!  Oh and in regards to the buffet, i'm not sure if they let you do that unless you have 50 guests.

That is great Erin! I look forward to meeting you!

Thanks! I have actually found a couple of dresses, now I just have to make the big decision. Choosing between one in ivory and one in white. Since my FI is wearing beige linen pants and a white/off-white shirt I think maybe ivory might match him better....

Hi Irishdonna,

I had the same question as you..and all Ana offered to me was an extra hour of video..so that sounds like it'll work for you! I want to do a slideshow..which is suppose to cost $350 I think and I decided to opt for that instead of the extra hour of video since I REALLY wanted a slideshow..even though i'd probably get more money's worth with the video.

Hi Jessica and fellow ladies! I just came back from a friend's wedding in Hawaii and it was really simple and elegant! She didn't have any OOT bags or any wedding favors for the guests..and it didn't take away from a beautiful wedding week!! So try not to stress about it too much..even though I know that will be hard!! Fedex should be able to locate you pacakge!!!! Its just whether or not it'll get there on time! GOOD LUCK!!!!

This if the only thing that has gone wrong for me but it is a very MAJOR thing to go wrong! I am worried I am not going to have welcome bags for anyone now! AH! I am still working with fedex to figure everything out but what are your thought?! I need advice!

Thanks,

Jessica Phillips

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
