I used a fake flower in my hair but I think that a real one would be nice.  You should research which flowers last better and keep their shape in the heat before you decide.  If the one that you wanted to use ends up wilting in the heat then maybe fake would be better or switch what flower you would use.

I found her on line and was a little scared at first because she is in PA and I am in DC but it has been pretty cool,  and I have been talking to Pilar.  I am trying to swap stuff out of the package( I read the board I know it use to be possible and now not so much but it never hurts to ask as I have no use for hair and make up and my friends are photographers professionally, and I am thinking of hiring one)   She hasn't answered me so far, but has been averaging 3 days to 7 days to respond and I just asked on Tuesday.  My FI is vegan (he now eats fish occasionally but NO DAIRY at all)  so I am looking to have a cake shipped.  Nothing really fancy - A grooms cake, but something so that he can eat too :-). I am a part time vegan lol if that is possible.  No meat at all, some fish, and some cheese from time to time. No eggs. So this is going to really interesting as far as food goes.

I also got a group rate on some of the excursions and day trips to the ruins if anyone is interested, and I have rates for outside photographers for the trash the dress. Not sure if I am going to do that. I might order a 100 dress just for the pictures.

So much to do! So thankful for this site.  Take care ladies.

Regarding the excursions: There are a ton out there and I've done a lot but my favorite by far was the trip I took all my attendants and moms on as their "thank you" gift. The Jungle Maya Expedition through Altournative. http://www.alltournative.com/tours-expeditions/jungle_maya_expedition.asp AMAZING!

It was $99 per person after the group rate (group rate given with 10 people or more) and that included transfers, a private tour and a very sexy guide!

Regarding the food: The foord at the resort is very good. Not your typical all-inclusive food. The food for the wedding dinner was impressive.

I just updated my review so hopefully this helps-it has more info on excursions and food.

Oh and I finally made photo albums!! See the review for the link:

Thanks biehnbag! Your wedding looks awesome and it really helps me get ideas for what to do for my wedding!!

How did your organize all of your group? My mind is just boggled on how to organize all of my guests!!!!! My problem is that I have guests coming from all over the place, but I also have guests who are staying for 7 nights, 6, 5, 4, 3, etc..! I think I would like to encourage everyone to book it through bookit.com since it seems like its the best deal. But not everyone will want to book instantly for whatever reason, but I think I should still block rooms for them in case they book 2-3 month before the wedding right? Also, some people may not want to use bookit and therefore I would need to block rooms for them too. SOOOO...do you think its possible for me to block rooms for EVERYONE (those who book online with packages AND those who book hotel only direct) and if they book online, I can just tell the hotel to consider them as part of my group block?

Sorry, does that even make sense what I just typed?! AH! How did you do it?!? HELP!!

Thanks Biehnbag!!

Lisa (and other getting married in the end of April), what are you bringing down with you to the resort and what (if any) will you be leaving there?

My wedding is getting real close and I still have gotten nothing done :S We just moved from TX to FL and I started a new job, we have to find an apt within the next to weeks and move, so lots of other things going on! To add to that stress out budget has been very tight and I won't get paid until the end of month...aaargh!! We have chosen the Eternity package since our wedding is pretty small (about 20 ppl) and I don't feel like we will need a lot of the extras. I still have to find a dress though!! Because of out small budget I will probably order a knock-off.... Sorry for the rant, starting to freak out a little and needed to vent....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
