Jen--Congratulations!!!! :)  I am getting married there in April....we chose the beach for the ceremony and the pool terrace for the reception.... am starting to get a little nervous about the outdoor reception.  Originally our thoughts were "we're gonna be in Mexico. We might as well be outside"...now I am a little nervous about wind and lighting.  Did you see any receptions on the pool terrace while you were there?  Can you post some pictures please and any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks! --Kelly

CherryColaLola - I'm working with Ana too and once it took 3 weeks for her to get back to me.  I emailed her once a week to "check in" and eventually she responded.  Now it's been about 1 week since I've heard from her.  That's so nervewracking that you still don't have a quote and you're a month out!  I do have an email address for her supervisor, I think...but he's not very good with email promptness either.  Have you tried calling?

I have Pilar for my WC and since I recently switched resort locations, I have not had too many email correspondence yet.  However, I have already noticed that she responds the same day if I list out all my questions and group them all together (about 5-10 questions at a time).  The few times that I have emailed only one question at a time, I am still waiting on those answers.

I am only 8 weeks away from getting married there and only just started planning.  Thanks to everyone who has posted information about the various policies, dinner locations and the pictures.  Everything has been so helpful to me and I have already decided to switch to the buffet and am now considering the Bamboo room after seeing Tracy's pictures and hearing such positive things about the room.  by the way Tracy, I got Pilar to get me the buffet menu and there was a few pictures of your setup as advertisement.  Looked great!

Is anybody planning on using the resort photographer for the pics?  I hear that a lot of you are using Ivan Luckie as your photographer.  What is the pricing like?

Hammy-I am using Ivan and cannot rave enough about him and his correspondance. He definately has already gone above and beyond for me and I am not even there yet! He is reasonable compared to some of the other pricing I got. He works with you and would suggest contacting him for his pricing at

Sorry, I'm Meg.  yeah I had some last minute switching around to do.  I was originally booked with my party at the resort that blew up from swamp gases.  So I have had quite a time trying to find a different resort within the area because we had already booked our flights and that had my wedding date available.  I remembered that I had looked at this resort when I was deciding over the summer so I checked it out again and really liked both resort options.  I found good pricing on bookit.com and we all switched to Now Jade.  Ironically, I feel more comfortable with my choice of resort this time around and I am sure that we will all have fantastic weddings!

No, they seemed okay with it to let me through.  I was carrying a wedding dress with me and i had about 25 travel mugs and other things with me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
