I am not doing OOT bags even though I was dying to because it will be too much stuff to bring down and the additional cost I didn't want to spend. Haven't said that, I am sending out pre-travel brochures with luggage tags about 1-2 months before the trip. I will have a welcome letter, postcards, pen, lanyard with waterproof pouch for key card and tip money in the rooms for each guest. I will be giving out organza bags with rose petals for the ceremony, fans, personalized water bottles and programs. I will be giving out starfish wine stoppers and maracas for the dinner reception. On top of all of this i will be bringing, centerpieces, linens, gifts for bridal party, other decorations for the event and other stuff I can't even think of right now. I am also having an AHR on July second and the majority of the people coming down south are also coming to this event so they will be getting other stuff there as well. I like the travel mug idea also, FI and I have one, and I may add this closer to the event once I know how many friends and family members can help me bring down stuff as the cost for extra luggage with my tour operator is OUTRAGEOUS!

That's awesome Tracy. Have a blast! Much better plan than the boring JOP which is what we are doing lol

Time should go by fast though.  We are flying to Vegas for the night next Saturday and getting legally married there-just the 2 of us.  Last minute decision instead of going down to the JOP to make it official...one of the perks to marrying a pilot I guess! :-)

I am doing a rehearsal dinner but they are reserving a section of the Festival terrace for my group as long as there aren't any weddings that day which I don't think there will be as it is easter monday. fingers crossed! if not they are going to reserve a section in the buffet for us and this avoids all the extra costs. Any of the other restaurants charge 22$ plus taxes and service usd which was just too much to add to my bill especially since we are essentially having two weddings minus the ceremony at the AHR (150 people there) and DW (47people). The costs were just adding up to way over what I wanted my budget to be. So buffet it is!

Is anyone doing a rehearsal dinner??  which restaurant is it at??

Finally i dont know if this has been asked anywhere on here before but I feel like I know you ladies and wanted to ask you what you thought........My e ring has a thick platinum band and we have started to look at wedding bands (i want a thin band with a few dimonds on it) and I really dont want to spend more then like $500 on my band, but obv cant get a platinum band with a few dimonds on it for $500.........so here is my question.....Is it cheesy to get a white gold band to go with my platinum e ring? will it look different color, less shiney?  And if not is there a big difference beteween 14k and 18k gold? Thanks girls!!

We got linen suits from Studiosuits.com.  Custom-made for $99 +tax and shipping.  They are out of India and we were very pleasantly surprised with the quality.  My FI's fits him perfectly.  There's a huge thread on here if you search custom linen suits I think.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
