shorn, i debated between the dreams resorts and now jade as well. it all came down to price for the guests.  Dreams tends to be a lot more expensive, even though it has basically the same amenities as the now resorts.  And since they're all owned by the same company now, I figured they all have great customer service.  And i think the Dreams Resorts do up to 5 weddings a day, whereas Now limits it to two a day max.

I received an email and a phone call on Saturday. I was out of town and missed the call but both were because Pilar is now on Facebook and saw some previous posts of mine about time delay in responses and she wanted to address my dissatisfaction with the service. I responded to her last night. I am going to call her to get this resolved as since I was transfered back to her she has been much better at answering my questions. She did say that she was out of town last week for a wedding conference so this could be why she has not responded yet. She is trying to catch up i guess.

I was just wondering since most of you have already negotiated with Pilar or Ana...I was wondering if anyone asked about the Bamboo/brown chairs for the ceremony.  There's a picture on the website that has the chairs in their set up.  I was hoping to use those but wanted to know how much extra they would be.

Thanks for your help. :)

Hi Hanna!!!!

Pilar told me the brown chairs are $7 plus tax and the white chairs are $9 per chair plus tax. I'm thinking going with either the white or brown chairs rather than using the chair covers myself.

thanks!!

I am now in the same boat with you! My travel agent introduced me to Dreams Riviera Cancun and now I am having trouble deciding between the two. Both are on Facebook, by the way, and I like that people have posted their own pictures of these resorts on the facebook pages. It kind of gives you reassurance that, yes, these places are as beautiful as the commercial pictures on the website. There is also a wedding discussion thread on both of the facebook pages that is informative.

I guess it will come down to which is most affordable for my guests. Do any of you have any tips on how the guests can get the best rates?

FutureMrsHolt, I can't wait to see more pictures when she gets back!!

I sent Ana an email yesterday asking about entree choices. I would like to be able to offer my guests two options, since some of them don't eat meat and others don't eat seafood/fish. Has anyone else asked the WCs about this?

No but that is a fantastic idea. I did mention to them that my aunt was allergic to seafood and they said they would give her a different dish. I am not sure if I am remembering correctly but i think they wanted to charge me $3 change fee or something but I am not sure about this so i would ask. If you are having 50 people of more i think you can do a buffet style and then there are several choices.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
