I booked my date with the resort without a TA. My travel agent has never even spoken with the hotel, they are dealing strictly with the tour operator and I am doing everything with the hotel. As long as you call the hotel, tell them the date you want and it is available then you email them a copy front and back of your credit card, a copy of you drivers license, fill out a short form of the locations you want the wedding, cocktail and reception and you are booked in, with or without a TA. You should speak with Hotel Management if that is what she is telling you or try to reach Pilar cause that is who i initially dealt with when i secured my date. Good luck!

Something good to know when you are shopping prices is that as Travel Agents we have access to many tour operators who will price match to Expedia or Orbitz or other online engines. Companies we use to make client bookings will price match individual reservations with the only stipulation being that to price match Expedia who requires full payment at time of booking, the tour operators I use would also require payment in full at time on booking. If they are not doing a price match then only a deposit of $150 per person is required at time of booking, and final payment would not be due until 45 days prior to your departure.

Perhaps the rates you are getting are from checking group block pricing... sometimes group rates can be lower than what you get as an individual, but not always. Group contract rates would have any amenities you are being offered built right in, though. (IE free rooms, upgrades, free parties etc.)

So it all depends which way you choose to book... if you and your guests book individually, you can always get a price match to Expedia/Orbitz, but there is no guarantee that the rooms will be available if guests wait too long to reserve.

Pilar finally got back to me yesterday and she has honored what Sandra told me thank god for that! She even sent an email to the videographer stating my total hours and to contact me to discuss options and what we want done.

I got very detailed answers from her about alot of questions so i feel more at ease now. She even emailed the Minister asking him to contact me so we can discuss scripts for the wedding. I got most of this information because i sent an email to Diana saying i hadn't heard from Sandra in over a month.

i am bringing my own sashes too, some of the flowers that are not included and my own centerpieces.

Ana is the WC from Dreams and she is now at the Now jade. Another bride said that she spoke with her and was able to answer all of her questions in 20minutes so hopefully she has changed her habits now and will be the WC that we all need!

I found in the beginning of this process that phone calls were way more effective but since then i a now doing things mostly over email and it is working out. Good luck with everything!

Primavera, When I orginally booked at Now Jade she was able to confirm with me  April 29, April 30, May 1 are taken for weddings. Which is why I had to choose May 3, for my wedding date. My TA comfirm that is cheaper in April than in May. Not sure if it is true in your case.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
