Hi TA Dina,
I'm planning a wedding in Oahu for October 20, 2011 (5 days from you!). Would love to hear how everything is going for you? Any favorite vendors etc you can share would be appreciated! Thanks.

Hawaii is beautiful in October, you will have such a good time. Let me also tell you that you will find the people here friendly and hospitable since we are such a family oriented place! You don't have to spend a bundle to get married here, either, and you can get your marriage license at the State Department of Health in downtown Honolulu right away. They are open from 8AM-4PM Monday through most Fridays, but check because they do have a few furlough Fridays every month. Once you get your license it is good for 30 days and your minister will file the papers for you and you will have your official license in about three months unless you need it sooner in which case you can fill out a certified copy request. Let me know if there is anything you are unsure about, I have lived here 40 years (originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan) and would be happy to answer any questions you have! Aloha!

OMG! I am from Kalamazoo originally and my best friend (since we were fourteen) lives in Casco near Detroit and has two kids! Her son is getting married here in July so the whole family will be here! I can't wait! They are getting married at Makapu'u Point and have friends coming from everywhere, including Australia! Small world, eh?
