I am leaning towards 4 pm...we are going off-site to a church, possibly in runaway bay, then headed to coyaba gardens- Ochi for our reception. It's gonna be a celebration!
I've booked Heather Parker for my photographer for my April 2, 2011 wedding in Ochi Rios, Jamaica. If anyone is getting married in Jamaica days before or after me and is interested sharing her travel expenses to save few wedding budget bucks, let me know. Take a look at her work for Moon Dance...

I have been struggling with this too! Currently I am booked for a 5pm wedding but I am thinking I should change it to 4pm so that I don't run out of sunlight for pics!
Hey Everyone! I have booked Heather Parker to photograph my May 7, 2011 wedding in Negril, Jamaica. I am looking for someone that might want to share in the cost of her transportation/stay that will be getting married around the same time in the area. PM me if you are interested! Her work is...

Mine is at 4pm, which is the latest time available at my resort. I would have liked 5pm, actually. I don't want everyone waiting too long between the ceremony and reception, but if the reception is at 6:00 pm, that gives us 1 1/2 hours for pics, which works out nicely.

we chose 4pm, we have since heard that this is the most likely time of rain in July but we are going in hurricane season so whatever happens happens - Im sure it will all work out just fine!

I chose 5:30 bc I didnt want too many people on the beach and still wanted sunlight to take photos, In addition, I wanted our cocktail hour at sunset and reception at night. My wedding is in Punta Cana and sunset in June is at 7:20.

We chose 4 PM. We wanted the ceremony to be close to the reception time. We will have cocktail hour between the ceremony and the reception.

So it seems like most folks are going with a late afternoon/early evening ceremony. Does anybody know of or been to a morning wedding where the reception is a brunch? thinking mimosas and rum punch...afternoon at the pool/beach?

We are getting married at ROR next Saturday, April 17th. We are doing 2 pm. We wanted 4 pm, but we were told it was already taken so we didn't really have much of a choice. We booked over a year in advance so I was pretty surprised that the 4 pm slot was already taken for the date we wanted, but it seems like that is the most popular choice. My biggest concern is the 4 hour window between the end of the ceremony and the 6:30 pm dinner time. We are going to do the steel drum band for an hour on the beach and do the first dance, bouquet toss, garter toss and pictures so hopefully that will take up some time.

I haven't booked mine yet, but I was hoping for 4pm also so that there would still be sunlight for pics. Now that you mention a morning wedding though, mimosas and rum punch does sound good :)

doesn't it though?...i will say one of the dangers of this forum is that it's giving me TOO many ideas...and i LOVE it! so TODAY, i'm leaning towards a sunday morning wedding, followed by a "mimosa hour", followed by a brunch. finish up about 1/1:30...guests (and newlyweds) have four hours to self (hang out by pool, laze in a hammock, go to beach) and then we take them on a sunset cruise as a final to-do. everybody checks out monday a.m. and we're off to the other side of the island for our honeymoon!

now of course, nothing's set with me yet. but i found this link 10.01.09 Christi and Scott | Excellence Riviera | Photos by Matt on an older thread and it reminded me how i love tropical mornings. i love how bright and vibrant to colors pop in the photos!
