Mine is at 4pm, which is the latest time available at my resort. I would have liked 5pm, actually. I don't want everyone waiting too long between the ceremony and reception, but if the reception is at 6:00 pm, that gives us 1 1/2 hours for pics, which works out nicely.

We are getting married at ROR next Saturday, April 17th. We are doing 2 pm. We wanted 4 pm, but we were told it was already taken so we didn't really have much of a choice. We booked over a year in advance so I was pretty surprised that the 4 pm slot was already taken for the date we wanted, but it seems like that is the most popular choice. My biggest concern is the 4 hour window between the end of the ceremony and the 6:30 pm dinner time. We are going to do the steel drum band for an hour on the beach and do the first dance, bouquet toss, garter toss and pictures so hopefully that will take up some time.

doesn't it though?...i will say one of the dangers of this forum is that it's giving me TOO many ideas...and i LOVE it! so TODAY, i'm leaning towards a sunday morning wedding, followed by a "mimosa hour", followed by a brunch. finish up about 1/1:30...guests (and newlyweds) have four hours to self (hang out by pool, laze in a hammock, go to beach) and then we take them on a sunset cruise as a final to-do. everybody checks out monday a.m. and we're off to the other side of the island for our honeymoon!

now of course, nothing's set with me yet. but i found this link 10.01.09 Christi and Scott | Excellence Riviera | Photos by Matt on an older thread and it reminded me how i love tropical mornings. i love how bright and vibrant to colors pop in the photos!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
