Air transat wedding package

Recommended Posts

Has anyone booked the new 2012/2013 air transat packages? I just got the wedding collection catalogue from them at a wedding show. I'm actually super surprised by the pricing of these packages vs. the ones the resorts offer. They seem to be a much better deal, so I don't get it - what is the catch?

I know it looks to good to be true but my TA and I decide to choose it!!! And fight for it!!!:)  They advertise it they need to deliver it!!!!

We think the big deal will be to have a lot of things included confirmed  from the WC by email with picture and we will need to bring it!

The only thing they want is extra money$$$$ even if you buy the wed pack from them!!!!

We  will probably choose Gran Sirenis or Barcelo depending the vacation pricing (especially for kids it could be 850$ to 1500$ for a week for a 3 years old kid)

We are a big group of 50 - 60 pers so we calculate that the gold package from hotel 2012 (WC told us+10% for 2013) that is 35550 pesos=2900$can for 10 pers extra pers is 221 pesos each=17$/pers that means 2900$+700$=3580$ for the pretty same package than AT Bliss pack at 850$ for 24 pers and extra pers are 10$ total:1150$ BIG DIFFERENCE of 2430$

So even if they try and try to sell us upgrade for cake, flowers, deco, extra hours  for restaurant or palapas upgrade

it will be max 1000$ 1500$ and we will even save a grant!!!

We are planning to spend the diff on  Mariachi band or  a good photographer....

I totally agree with you, and you have a good tip about having the WC confirm everything via email/photos before you get there, and bringing them with you. If I end up qualifying for the Air Transat package (looks like you have to have at least 12 bookings from the same gateway) I will likely try to do it as well. For me at Ocean Blue (my top choice)...it would be a difference of at least 1000.00

We are going with the Air Transat Euphoria wedding package for our wedding in June 2012. We are planning on approximately 50 guests, so it makes a big difference when you have to pay $20/person for every guest over 20. We compared the prices of the wedding packages at Barcelo Maya Tropical through the resort, and the Air Transat package at Barcelo Maya Colonial. It depends which is better for you- the Colonial is more expensive for guests to book, but at Tropical the wedding package is more than double the AT package fpr 50 people!

Regarding your question on having a private dinner.  If you chose the Euphoria package it includes a 2 hour dinner for 24 in an a la carte.  Yes, you may upgrade to a private beach dinner @ $27.50 per person.  Another $10 per person if you want it an hour longer.  I did the math on 30 guests and its still a major savings to go with an Air Transat wedding package over the Barcelo Strawberry package.  Note that in the AT package live music is not included and the menu if you chose to have it on the beach is different from a Barcelo package menu.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
