Air transat wedding package

Recommended Posts

Hey!

I have a big question for you everybody! wacko.gif I want to book my wedding package with air transat but I'm not able to choose the hotel. Here is the choice of hotel :

  • Barceló Maya Colonial Beach Prestige Class
  • Barceló Maya Palace Prestige Class
  • Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach
  • Occidental Grand Xcaret Preference Club½
  • Ocean Turquesa½

Which hotel is the best quality, the best price, the best food, etc.? I need your opinion!

Thanks,

Christina.

Hi there,

I am a travel agent so I know these hotels really well. My personal opinion would be one of the Barcelo's or the Ocean Turquesa. It is all a matter of if you are looking for a hotel with a beach as well.

-The occidental literally has NO beach. It has a tiny man made "pond" in front of the hotel. The hotel itself is really nice and is pretty much located on a national park called Xcaret.

- And same goes for the Grand Sirenis...No beach...well it does have a beach but it is quite murky and has a lot of seaweed since it is in a peninsula.

I'm kind of biased since i'm a beach girl :) but the Barcelos (Palace just being a bit newer and a real 5 star) would be my first choice

Hope that helps a bit Christina

Good luck!!

Thanks for your answer bride to be!

Finally, I totally change our plan! Be careful, because they change alllllllll the air transat package. Contact air transat because i'm not sure if they still have the package with Xcaret for 2011.

My wedding is April 2011.

I heard through the travel agent grapevine that MANY of these resorts are not going to be packaging with Air Transat in 2011. The reason is Air Transat wasn't happy with the wedding services from some of these resorts. I'm going with the Grand Sirenis in March 2011 -- only because they are one of the resorts that are still packaging and my travel agent MIL has sent a number of couples here -- all have come back with rave reviews.

Yes, there is a rocky part of the beach, but there is also the beautiful white sand...

Sorry if this seems like a really dumb question but what does the tour operator (Transat etc...) have to do with your wedding package? I'm going to Barcelo Maya Tropical (or Colonial if I end up booking with Transat) and have already chosen my wedding package and placed my wedding day "on hold" with the resort. Wedding week: Feb 20, 2011 and wedding package: Strawberry Passion.

Am I missing out on something? smile43.gif

Thanks for any info!!!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
