Non- Religious Wedding Program Ideas?

Recommended Posts

We are getting legally hitched before we leave for our 'wedding' in Mexico and i'm just wondering if any of you have had some troubles writing your program for a symbolic ceremony? I have NO idea what to put on it. We aren't saying prayers or anything, so what have you all done for a symbolic wedding program?

Hey, I just completed my programs actually. The main reason I wanted them was to give everyone a time line-when dinner was, when the reception was and where.........rather then just telling everyone. Soooo on the front cover, Theres a pic of me and fi saying something like,.."today I will marry my best friend", on the inside left its the wedding timeline along with a little poem at top...on the inside right theres the parents of the groom, bride, bridal party introduction, and on the back, its a little thank you note to everyone for coming...Id be glad to send you a pdf f it..you can pm me i f youd like to see....

I did the same - legal wedding in the US and non-religious ceremony in Mexico.

I did the following :

- a time line in my welcome booklet that you can find there :

http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...emplate-41189/

- a ceremony with non-religious readings - I had my brother and my FIL read them.

The program included the name of the people in the party, some readings, the text of the songs we played and the text of the readings we got - all with translations in French/English - plus a few other quotes that we found appropriate (for us). I found a really nice program paper at paperdirect.com - I used these :

Island Tropics Programs by PaperDirect

and then I did some insert pages with some other "tropical" backgrounds.

I could post my program template later on if you're interested - I'm not at home so I don't have it with me. Here are some pics :

I'm totally in the same boat... doing the legal thing here (hush hush) and symbolic in Mexico... problem making a program is that I have no idea what the order of events is for the ceremony... I'd like to get a little more specific with what's going on rather than just mention wedding ceremony at 4pm...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
