Hi All,

Just thought I'd share some info if you want it! I'm getting married May 21, 2010 in Bahamas. The ceremony is at The Cloister's and the reception is being held at the RIU where my fiance and I as well as all of our guests are staying.

I'm using Matthew Sweeting as the minister.

I'm still working on flowers - I'm thinking Wildflowers.

Anyone have info on a good bakery? I want cupcakes with a small cake ontop that we can cut.

Help a bride out! If anyone has any questions please contact me :)

Hi There -

As Full House Floral stated above.. I will be getting married in the Bahamas, at the Sheraton Nassau Cable beach.

I don't know if there is any relation, but I'm using Full House Floral Event and Design for flowers and have spoken with Michael for our ceremony and reception. I obviously have not seen how it's going to turn out yet. If personality, business sense and having my best interest at hand is reflected in Michaels work I have 100% confidence that are wedding day will be perfect!! They have competitive pricing and have been an absolute pleasure to work with!!! I can't be happier that I found them. They came recommended and am glad I got the reccomendation.

My minister is Matthew as well. He has been great!

I used Swiss Pastry Shoppe and have been working with Manfred, once again, a pleasure and have complete confidence in him. He worked with us all the way, we sent him a few photos and he is creating what we want. His prices were better than anything else I found. He was also recommended to me.

The DJ I am using is Jose Ageeb. I spoke with him one night, and booked him that night. I have heard from many in the Bahamas that he was a great choice.

Where are using Majestic Tours for transportation. I don't have much to say about them. They've been good at responding to emails and if they get us there and back they've done their job :) We had a few special requests and they are working with us to make it happen

I plan to write a full review of everything and everyone after the wedding. It may be too late for you by then but I can let you know how everything went.

I will say that I am confident in everything I've done and the people I have chosen and think the day is going to be perfect!!!

First of all..Congrats!! The Cloisters is a STUNNING setting to have a wedding. Md2002 gave you some great recommendations. I too am getting married by Mathew Sweeting....he must make a mint!! LOL As for flowers, I am using a combination of Real Touch flowers for the bridal party and I have hired Floral Arts to do the flowers at the ceremony and reception as well as the decor. Believe it or not...their prices are much cheaper than Wildflowers. That being said...if I had known...I might have gone with the person that MD2002 chose...so....look into them.

I tried to get the same DJ as MD2002 but he could not personally play at my wedding as my wedding date is a National Holiday in the Bahamas and he was busy...go figure? I did go with other recommendations of Mr. Sweeting and booked a DJ and steel pan drum player for GREAT prices. If you are interested in the info...send me a PM. Good luck and again..Congrats!!

Congratulations and nice choice on the ceremony location! We are also staying at the Riu, but haven't decided if we are getting married there or at another location (like the beautiful Cloisters). How does the Riu reception work if you aren't getting arried there? Are you having a private reception or dining at one of the restaurants?

Wildflowers does a great job with their centerpieces and their bouquets.  They also have a planner, Natalie (she may be the owner, but I'm not sure) who does a really great job.

The hardest part of destination weddings, imho, is getting everything organized while being so far away.  Natalie does a great job making sure everything is taken care of and that you and your guests don't have to worry about anything on the wedding day.

You can see examples of the bouquets, centerpieces, and other wedding florals she did here.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
