Help w/ choosing a resort cancun/mayan!

I am a tripadvisor addict and read thousands of reviews. I would definitely go with Secrets or Dreams. Their service is pretty consistently very good, food pretty good, and all are fairly upscale. Secrets sound a little nicer, but are adults only. Dreams are kid friendly. We're doing Dreams because of the kids involved.

Good luck!

Hi Mandy! Welcome to the site. You'll find all sorts of information which will help you narrow down your search. As well, there are travel agents affiliated with this site (if I'm not mistaken, all of them were former BDW brides too) who can help you with your site search. They have tons of experience and specialize in destination weddings. Just click on any of the banner ads at the top of your screen advertising travel agents and you can get in touch with them. Good luck!

Welcome to the forum, I am also looking in the same area and it is so overwhelming. I am just sorting through the resorts one by one, and each day I keep adding more and more to my "no" list. I want to narrow the list down to 4-5 for our site visit next year, but it is a very time consuming process. This forum has by far been my best resource! Just try not to get to overwhelmed, and good luck on choosing a perfect place.

Congrats and welcome! We're also looking in Cancun and surrounding areas. It can definitely be overwhelming. You should check out the Cancun/Riviera Maya section on here. There are some great maps in sticky notes, which helped us get started. We also have a travel agent, which can be a good way to go if you want some extra guidance.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
