June Wedding in Cancun???

Hello all,

I am considering a June wedding in 2012 in the Cancun/Riviera Maya area, but I have read some things that the weather in Cancun in June is awful. Either really hot, or really rainy. I can deal with heat, but not with rain . I was wondering if anyone has done a June wedding in Cancun area, or has visited during this time, and if they have any advice!!! I would love to hear your feedback!

i've been to the riviera maya (90mins from cancun) in june before. it was hot, and it rained a little bit. usually just a quick afternoon shower and because it was hot it was usually refreshing. nothing that lasted more than 30 mins.

 

other than that it was still beautiful out 95% of the time. the area is amazing, lots of sights to see and what's better than being out in the hot when you have a beach, pool & bars around you.

 

if you do consider it...make sure you get a lighter material wedding dress so you don't melt the day of your wedding!

I got married on June 26th last year (2009) -- we stayed for two weeks and had beautiful weather. There was a storm that passed through the area for two days, but in all honesty whenever you're in a tropical climate, showers and rainfall are bound to happen at some point. Nevertheless June is a beautiful time to visit the area -- I've been there twice in June and it's not too hot and a little rain also helps clear the air.

 

If you want to marry in June, I say go for it! I did, and have absolutely no regrets

You are correct, in June in the Riviera Maya its HOT, as long as you don't make the guys wear black suits on the beach, you can deal with this. Bring water!

 

Rain...they say it rains a lot in the summer months, June, July August Sept... BUT, I've seen it rain a TON in December, and other years NONE.... Its very unpredictable. I do know that this is an El Nino year and that forecasters are predicting strong rain in some rainy countries in Central America and South America... will that mean the RM Who knows.

 

I'd say don't worry about the rain because you will go MAD planning around it. Honestly, any month you could pick here may have rain.

 

This bride got married June 27 2009... It rained, wedding moved inside.

Bonus, she got a rainbow Married at Excellence Riviera Cancun. The key is, the rain is usually quick and if there are thunder clouds or at least SOME clouds, then the after rain light from the setting sun is AMAZING and often, yielding rainbows. Rainbow appears after frame 111 or so...

Looking back at June 2009, I think we shot 16 weddings. I recall it only raining at 1 of them. She got a rainbow

Hello , I usually I have a lot of weddings during June , and I dont know if I am lucky or something like that...but It never rain...so I dont think June it so bad!...COngratulation on your wedding day!!!!

Matt, I booked my wedding for 6pm thinking that it would be a cooler time of day, but now I'm worried that it will be too close to sunset for good pro pictures after a 30-35 minute ceremony. What is your professional opinion?

I was Married June 24, 2009 and I have to say, although it was REALLY hot (& humid) we had a beautiful week. It did rain alot the day we left to go home, but we didn't care.

I think it's going to be Hit or miss, but I wouldnt say that June is a rainy month

 

And Although I am no professional, to the post above mine..My Wedding was at 5:30pm and we got some really good pictures between 6 and 7...So I would try to move your ceremony up a half an hour

I have been to Cancun often in June and have had beautiful weather (hot). Most of the time i found myself sitting my the pool wishing s could would come by to give me some relief from that hot sun!

Like midnight24 had mentioned there is the odd shower in the afternoon, but nothing too serious. I am actually getting married this June in Cancun and i am hoping that this post does not make a liar out of me

6pm is fine, run with it!
