Pay extra for an all inclusive ???

Recommended Posts

I have been reading these threads and I see that alot of the resorts charge extra per person fees? now it seems as though it just for private receptions , but is it just me but I find nuts to pay extra at an all inclusive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean the whole reason why I want to do a destination wedding is to save money, not end up paying for for all the extras

I like majestic colonial but it doesn't even look like they include a bouquet in their package and outside of that is 65.00....so what I am I really paying for in a wedding package that cost 1200$

boy was I wrong when I thought destination weddings would be stress free!!!

This is discussed all the time on this forum. In essence you are paying for private service. Think about it... they are setting up a private area just for you, supplying private waiters, making custom food and waiting on you hand and foot. The average person vacationing at the resort doesn't get private treatment. If you add up everything you are getting, most of the time it is a steal compared to having something local. It might help to make a budget sheet to put things into perspective. No weddings are stress free, but a DW is such an awesome experience and your guests will remember it for a long time! Good luck planning :o)

I couldn't have said it better myself!! A wedding is above and beyond just a vacation at an AI...it's an event. And while still cheaper in many ways than a traditional at home wedding, you are still paying for a wedding because you are getting more than any other person vacationing at the resort.

Perfectly said autjo and Nam, imagine if the wedding was free and everything else was free, people wouldnt just vacation, they would get married or have a huge PRIVATE event everytime they went to an AI. All together you are def getting a great deal! And you have to do basically nothing, they take care of all of it for you. $1200 for a wedding is a steal compared to the states for $20,000 and you have to take care of everything yourself, unless you want a WC (add $5000 here).

So like the autjo said make a budget and compare the costs for your DW to an at home wedding.

The brides above are right. But if you thought it was going to be stress free....well....its not. :) Communication really stinks but if you get over that then you will be fine. Most of the brides have been more than pleased with there weddings but it can never be compared to what you get in the US because overall you are spending way less.

Happy Planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
