What's your favorite creative healthy snack???

In the spirit of summertime:

* yogurt popsicles with fresh fruit (like blueberries, strawberries) frozen, remove from popsicle form, allow to thaw slightly and roll in crushed walnuts (which are a great source of protein, omega fatty acids and are totally heart healthy).

Omg you guys have made me so incredibly hungry lol I can't believe how creative some of you are...I need to step up and start playing around with my food. Something I love to eat when I get non-sweet cravings is steamed cauliflower with mustard on top then topped with shredded cheese...not sure how healthy it is but it is delicious!

- Greek Yogurt with healthy granola and/or fruit (this way i dont have to put any sugar to sweeten it!)

- Wheat tortilla with PB and honey

-I add lime/lemon or hot sauce to spice my food up without adding any creamy stuff!

That's all I can think of!

Mmmmm

portabello sandwhiches!

toast whole grain bread (or any low fat bread of your choice) in a pan with some pam.

sautee a medium/large portabella cap with fat free balsamic vinaigrette, or even just balsamic vinegar, for a few minutes.

put on the bread with thinly sliced red onion, cucumbers, fat free feta (it DOES exist, yes!) and enjoy! They are so tasty. Even skipping the mushroom cap is fine, when you add extra cucumbers, and perhaps some red peppers!

Ugh, hummus on the side with some veggies to dip is to die for.

It's also extremely cheap and easy to make at home! All you need is a can of garbanzo beans, a tbl spoon of light olive oil, a tbl spoon tahini paste if you want, maybe a small red pepper, put in a food processor, and voila! warm up some pita, and we're in business!

banana and peanut butter in a smoothie with fat free frozen yogurt is simply divine! Seems like we love peanut butter and bananas on this forum!

Tortilla with peanut butter and banana is my favourite.

Saute veggies (peppers, zuchinni, cherry tomatoes, red onion, mushroom) in olive oil and sprinkle with McCormick's vegetable seasoning...then top with some crumbled feta.

It's a good way to get a lot of veggies in and tastes awesome

The tortilla w/ PB and banana sounds good. :)

These aren't too creative but they're some of my favorite healthy snacks:

*green peppers(cut up in sticks) with ranch dressing

*frozen grapes

*homemade tortilla crisps(baked of course) usually eat with salsa or sprinkle some cinnamon sugar on them.

*slushie cups(usually in the summer time) In a small cup, I put orange juice, a little lemon juice, and add fruit(usually rasberries, blackberries, or cut up strawberries) then freeze.

*baked onion(lwhole onion usually yellow or sweet onion, core out about an inch, put in a little butter and a buillon cube in the hole, bake until onion is tender). The taste is worth the onion breath! lol

*grape juice popsicles

*cauliflower popcorn(seasoning I use depends on my mood)

*lowfat cottage cheese w/ tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers.

I love the cheesy quakes!

Also, Adora Calcium Supplement, they're not really a snack, but are perfect in the afternoon when you want something sweet. The Dark Chocoalte is perfect. And I get my calcium in w/o having to worry about it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
