Hi Everybody! My name is Michelle and I hoping for an April 2011 wedding. So far we've had our sights set on The Royal in Playa Del Carmen but haven't been able to get pricing. We're hoping it fits our budget! Does anyone have any suggestions for PDC locations? We will have 2 children at the wedding so the challenge is finding a family resort with an upscale feel that we can afford!

Hi Michelle,

congrats on your engagment. I have just come back from my wedding in Jamaica, not sure if you are set on Mexico but in case you are open, I would highly HIGHLY suggest the Gran Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay Jamaica, we had 50 guests with us including children ages 6 months to 13 years and everyone loved it! We even had our own 9 year old with us and they gave us the honeymoon suite and made up a bed for her int he room. The prices were great with a group rate and the wedding day couldn't have been more perfect! AS I said not sure if you want to only do Mexico but if not, check out the Bahia, it was the time of our lives!

Good luck with everything and let me know if you need anything.

congrats! it can be fun and a headache trying to choose a resort, take your time and do lots of research and work with a TA.

We chose The Royal PDC, the only thing is, it's adults only (though i think kids are allowed for the ceremony), The Gran Porto Real is right next door and is family friendly, in a great area of town.

Some hotels have 2011 pricing out already but is looking on the higher but my TA says to keep an eye out for reductions.

Good luck & Happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
