PDC Wedding-Where to Honeymoon?

We are trying to decide where to honeymoon after our wedding in Playa del Carmen this November. We will only have about 4-5 days after we leave PDC, so it should be somewhat close by and affordable. We love outdoor activities, adventure, and small hotels/resorts rather than an all inclusive. Please let us know if you have any other suggestions. We are just in the early stages of planning.

we are getting married in Riviera Maya - there are NO non stop flights anywhere unless you are going to the US.. we decided we are going to Montego Bay Jamaica, since we will already be in Mexico for 5 nights for our wedding... I have such high expectations for the honeymoon so I still didnt decide on the resort

I would say Mexico and go either south to Tulum and stay in a neat boutique hotel or I have read about some neat boutique hotels on the island of Holbox. We stayed on Cozumel and it was really fun lots of great snorkeling. There are lots of options in Mexico outside of PDC.

If you have only 4-5 days after the wedding, stay in Mexico and avoid the hassle of having to travel again + the time wasted in travelling ! The Riviera has a lot to offer in terms of outdoors and adventure and a lot of great boutique hotels. You should check out trip advisor for this ! But check for instance :

Basico

La Tortuga

El Deseo

Las Golondrinas

Le Reve (where I got married, great spot for honeymoon)

Luna Blue

Le Petit Laffite

Cielo

The Tides is awesome for honeymoon but you mentioned affordable so... hum...

In Tulum there are a lot of great affordable small hotels :

Las Ranitas

Cesiak

Posada Luna del Sur

La Zebra

You can also try Cozumel and Hacienda San Miguel.

We love Isla Mujeres and are getting married. The ferry is about 20 minutes from the Cancun island. It's pretty low key and incredibly relaxing! Let me know if you need any info about it. We also went to Telum for a day from PDC a few years ago and really loved it there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
