Thank you sooo much for your recommendations re: suits.
The FI and I are going to be in Toronto in August so we are going to look around at the Harry Rosen Outlet in Heartland and then head over to Square One.
That's so exciting! There are tons of places for you to try here! There is also the Vaughan Mills mall, we saw a few up there. Good luck and let me know if I can help in any way :)

Tara, I pretty much do nothing but think about flowers!!!!! I'm even boring myself now! I love orchids, but i know they're really expensive, thought about taking some fake ones with us, but like i said above, no room! I know i want pink purple and white, reckon i'm just going to have to chill out for the next 5 1/2 months and see when i get there!
I'm completely obsessed with flowers too !! Haha. I have over 15 centerpieces, 20 bridal bouquets, tons of BM bouquets, bouts all saved to my favorites on my computer LOL. I'm bringing them down w me to our site visit this coming Mon to show the florist so I can find out what's avail and what's not.

You should be able to communicate with tour WC through email prior to if you don't want to wait until the week of your wedding to pick things out!

And really if flowers are important to you I'd just go for real orchids, they're not that much more expensive than silk. You probably have your bouquet included in your wedding package I'm assuming, and they'd just charge you a nominal upgrade charge to do orchids or other "premium" flowers.

I've found that flowers in Mexico are really cheap, at least compared to the States. Now, photographers, hair & makeup, notsomuch hehe

Love the bouquet charms. Where did you find those? My dad passed away 11 years ago, and I would love to have something to represent him. I had not really figured out how to work him in yet. Although I know we will have one of the BM or GM do a toast for those that can't make it, but are with us in spirit.
Sorry for the late reply, but just saw this post and thought I'd mention a few remembrance ideas I've seen at past weddings.

I went to a wedding ceremony on the beach in Maui where the bride had recently lost her father. What she did was leave an open seat in the front row with his favorite flower on it. I thought that was very sweet. You might even place a photo of your dad on the seat as well.

Another wedding I attended the groom lost his mom about ten years ago, and before he did the mother/son dance with his aunt, he went over and kissed a photo of his mother that was set up next to the head table.

  • 2 weeks later...

Right now I have behind. Have not managed to do much wedding stuff lately. Busy trying to finish renovations on my old place so I can sell it (moved in with FI, and would love to not have to pay the mortgage anymore) Hopefully it will be ready for sale at the end of the week, and then I can go back to wedding planning.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
