Sorry I dropped off the face of the Earth. I have managed to catch a horrendous cold/allergies. I have been laid out flat since Saturday. Way to ride the happy anticipation right! Book the wedding on Friday and then get sick for the next week! I can't say that I have gotten much farther in the plans other than getting things booked. I have not gotten the dress yet but still plan or ordering it tomorrow when I get into town.

this is the dress:

David's Bridal - Chiffon soft A-line with beaded lace on empire waist and back.

Now I suppose it is time to do the guest list. I need FI to get me his part (he is claiming to have 500 people so we'll see). If I get that timely enough I will do save the dates if not, it will be straight to the invites. Wish me luck!

Oh you poor thing - i hope you are feeling better. At least you are all booked that the most important thing. :-)

I love your dress - is will look beautiful i am sure - i like the high waist on it and it will flow lovely. You will have to let us know when its yours!

We did our list for the AHR last night and its suprising how quick the numbers add up - we got 175 without really thinking about it. I am sure another 100 will be added when we really sit down and list everyone. This is the first thing i have made FI do -other than this he has pretty much let me have the freedom to do what i like. :-)

we all fall off every now and then. . . I havent been checking too much this week either. Congrats on booking your wedding and selecting your dress -- two huge tasks off the endless list! Your dress is very elegant, so pretty :)

Let me know how it goes getting your list from FI! We are at about 275-300. And don't worry, you have plenty of time to get STDs out. If you get them out by say June, that gives people 7 months. In my opinion that's more than adequate. I know it can be intimidating when you see people getting them out over 12 mo in advance, but personally I don't think that's always necessary.

Those closet to you who you know will def come to the wedding they will all be aware of your plans anyway so i agree 6 - 8 months for STD card is fine.

Just printing the inserts for our AHR invites as over the next few months we have so many things going on and several weddings to go to thought i would make a start and it would only take me a couple of hours. No - 5 hours later i am still here!!! I made an error on the first lot ie; no where to put anyones name - lol!! Then the 2nd batch i wrote 'please' instead of 'pleasure' - i have read the final batch 101 times and am certain these are correct - if not in the bin they go and off i head to the printers! Maybe im not cut out for this DIY lark - lol bann.gif

Ok the dress is mine!! I am so excited. I also bought two pairs of shoes for it now as well. I figured I had better get them in the Summer rather than wait off season! I'll post pictures so you all can help me figure out which ones!

It seems like a lot of us are doing the Barcelo! I am sad that I will miss you all on the 19th. We leave on the 18th.. sad.gif We will have to try for a cocktail.

Congrats on the dress purchase! it's very exciting...
I'm still on the hunt for shoes to go with my dress... I'm hoping in the next month or so more "summer" shoes will be out and I'll have more to choose from!

Congrats to all those that have booked/put deposits down... Seems for most of you things are starting to come together (or maybe just starting to get hectic).

We've put deposit and insurance down, sent out STD a couple months ago and I just finished doing passport invites which I sent out last week. We're just waiting for ppl to start booking now!!

We're getting married Jan 26th, 2011 (Trip Jan 24-31st) at Royal Decameron Panama and I'm counting down the days till the trip.

Colours are deep purple and teal, with purple/teal/pink as accents also.

I've got my dress, and almost had BM dresses but didn't get on it quick enough and they sold out of the sizes I needed (Victoria Secret dresses).

So that's next on my list.

It is very overwhelming, and for those that say well I've still got 8 months, don't let it fool you... It goes by so fast!!! I'm hoping to get more done this month as the summer is a write off as we're so busy!

Good luck to all with the planning and organizing!!

Cheers,

Sorry I took a while to check on here! My dress isnâ€t very destination style. Itâ€s a-line and strapless, with a dropped asymmetrical waistline and a chiffon pick up skirt. Not at all what I thought I wanted but the saleslady made me try it on and I loved it so much I had to have it. So I might be a little warm, but I like the heat so itâ€s ok! cheesy.gif When I take the picture off my camera Iâ€ll upload it to show you guys.

Smart to get shoes now. If we get married on the beach I want to be barefoot, but I'll need something for later. Pretty open toed flats that aren't flip flops seem to be hard to find right now though. Not that I mind flip flops, but I'm not sure if I want that "slap-slap" sound wherever I walk that day. We'll see.

We took quite a while to narrow it down to the Barcelo, so I really hope everything goes well. Lots of people on here have said good things about it though, so that's a good sign.

Too bad you're leaving a day early. We're arriving on the 15th so there is a little overlap at least. It's be awesome if some of us who are going to be there at the same time could get together for a drink! shots.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
